Chapter 15 Search and Rescue

Bellamy POV

Everyone stopped short when we saw the ship and we quickly decided that we needed to go at once to see if anyone survived. 

I elected to go along with Abby, Indra, Lincoln, Octavia, Raven, Monty and Clarke.  She refused to be left behind insisting that we may need another medic to treat the wounded.   I let it go, knowing that if her health were really at risk Abby would put her foot down. 

Well, try to put her foot down anyway.  We were accompanied by a couple more grounder warriors for protection since we weren't sure if Mt. Weather had recovered enough to be a threat.

In less than 10 minutes we had rations, weapons, medical supplies and we were walking out of the gate towards Mt. Weather.

Clarke POV

We had been walking for about 30 minutes and I noticed Octavia was falling a little behind.  I waited for her to catch up to me.

"How is the warrior training coming?"  I asked her. 

"It's rough"  she answered with a rueful smile, "but I love it!  They don't baby me like Bell does." She says glancing at her brother who is walking in the front with Raven.

"Bell babies anyone he cares about"  I laugh,  "He is working on it though."

She nods and we continue to walk in silence, each lost in our own thoughts when I notice Bellamy is walking with Raven...

Bellamy POV

Raven and I are walking a little ahead of the others.  Remembering what I witnessed by the fire I say, "Do you want to talk about it?"

"There's nothing to say.   Finn and I are done. "

"He's an idiot.  Forget about him."

"I wish it were that simple..."

"It is.  You were too good for him anyway."  I pause, "Was it always you and Finn?"

She smiled sadly, then sighed, For the most part." But she didn't elaborate.  "It looks like you and Clarke worked things out huh?"  I nod and smile.

"You're  not such a bad guy when you stop being an ass."

"I 'm an ass?"

"Been known to happen a time or two. "

I chuckled but my laughter died down as we came upon the crash site.  Thankfully the ship looked in tact, just battered up.   We raced down the hill to look for survivors.

When we get down to the ship we find a few bodies, but we also hear a couple of people moaning and calling for help.  Abby and Clarke get busy right away, and some of the others make a couple of stretchers to carry the wounded back to camp.  In total there, are only  3 survivors. 

While we are looking thru the ship to see if any supplies are salvagable, Raven stoops to hand something to Clarke.   She stops for a minute to take a closer look at the man Clarke is treating.

"Wick?!  Oh my God!  Is he Ok?"

"He just has some cuts and a bump on the head.   We'll know more when he wakes up.   You know him?" Clarke asks.

"Yeah, we worked together on the Ark.  Hey, Monty look who's here."  Raven motions to Monty but I notice her hands shake a bit.

"Do you guys know any of the others?"  I ask.   Monty nods , "This is Wick from engineering. The other two are Ben and the girl is Liv. "

I nod and look around,  "Anything important gets taken back to camp.  We'll send out another team in the morning to retrieve the rest  and help dispose of the bodies.  Let's leave for camp in 5 minutes.

Raven POV

I can't believe Wick is here.  I can't even think right now!  He was like my mentor on the Ark, Monty and I learned a lot from him.  Finn never liked him.  I remember the last time I saw him on the Ark...
*** flahback***

I just finished the escape pod when I hear something .
"Hey Red,  what are you up to?"  He never calls me Raven.
""Wick! What the hell are you doing here?  Did anyone see you?   You scared the shit out of me!"

"I was worried about you.   Dr Griffin said  you were in quarentine , I wanted to check on you,  so I snuck  in thru the vent shafts.  What are you really up to?"

"The less you know the better."

"You know you can trust me Red..."he says with that look.

"I know, I just don't want to give them a reason to float you,  because if I am caught and they know you knew, they will float you."  He continues with that damn look and I finally tell him.  I can't lie to him.  "It's an escape pod  to get down to earth.  It's done, I am just waiting for Dr Griffin.  She is convinced that the 100 are still alive so I am taking a radio with me."

"Are you crazy or just suicidal?" He grabs my arm.

"Neither.   Dr Griffin is convinced and she is going to come with me..." I trail off

He stares at me a minute, then ," Finn is one of the 100 isn't he?"

My silence speaks volumes as he stares at me.

"Really Red?  I can't talk you out of this?"

"It's not just about him Wick, if Abby is right it could save all of us!" 

He stares at me for a momemt, then he takes a step closer,  "I guess this is goodbye then"  he wraps his arms around me and gives me a hug and the next thing  I know he is kissing me!  Hesitant at first but when I don't pull away, he deepens the kiss sending chills down my spine.

The radio crackles
"Raven!, you have to leave now!  They are on their way- don't wait for me get out Now!"

Wick realeases me and pushes me towards the pod, "Hurry, stay safe Red!"

I rush to the pod as I see him scurry out the way he came.   I hope he stays safe too.

***end of flashback***

I touch my lips still remembering that kiss.
