As much fun as I had the last couple days, I'm glad to be back home now. I missed my babies too much.
When we walked in the house, Chaney ran to the front door and jumped on us. Bailey came up after him, but she stopped running and fell on her side.
Got dammit. My dog is so dumb.
"Your dog is stupid," Blake said, walking in the living room.
"Don't call my dog stupid. Even if it is true," I said, mumbling the last part.
We got in the living room where everyone -- our parents, my brothers, Ryder & KJ -- shouted "welcome home" and KJ ran up to us.
"Auntie Bwee! Uncle Blake, I missed you!" he said, jump up in Blake's arms.
"We missed you too, buddy."
"Did you have fun with Lele & Papa?" I asked as Blake set him down.
"Yeah. We played baskaball wif Uncle Darrell, Jojo & Ryder."
I laughed a little at his excitement, then went upstairs to see my baby girl. When I got in the nursery, Brielle was wide awake and she gave me a big, toothless smile. This way my first time seeing her smile, so I was in awe.
"You're so precious," I said, picking her up.
I kissed her cheek, then Blake walked in and took her. Watching him with her always made my heart melt because he's so good with her and it's cute.
"Our parents just left," he said, kissing Brielle's forehead.
"Where are they going?"
"They said they had plans."
"Okay. Where's KJ?"
"Your brothers & Jennifer are taking him and Ryder out somewhere."
I nodded. I heard the front door open, making Blake and I look at each other. Who the hell?
"Mr and Mrs Griffin?"
I know that voice. I ran out of the nursery and downstairs and saw two of my favorite people walking in the house -- Monique and DeAndre Jordan.
I ran up to Monique and literally tackled her to the ground with a hug.
"I missed you too," she giggled.
I got off of her and helped her up before giving DJ a hug. I grabbed their hands and led them to the living room so we could talk.
"Did y'all have fun?" DJ asked.
"We sure did," I heard Blake say.
I turned around and he was walking in holding mini Bri, who was still awake.
"I can tell by all the purple marks all over your neck," Monique mumbled and smirked at me.
"Anyway, what have I been missing?" I asked as Blake and DJ carried on with their own conversation.
"Nothing. We miss you at the studio though; when are you coming back?" she asked.
"Never," Blake chimed in.
I glared at him and raised an eyebrow, signaling for him to shut up and continue talking to DJ.
"What was that about?" Monique asked.
"He doesn't want me to go back to work, but he'll be alright. What have y'all been working on?"
"Well, that's what I wanted to talk to you about. See, we were talking, and we all realized how much we miss performing, sooo we've been putting a show together."
"That's great! I can't wait to see it," I said, getting excited.
"The thing is, we want you to be in it."
I was kinda happy that they were thinking about me, but I feel like this is their thing; I don't wanna take away from it.
"This is something y'all wanna do. I don't wanna impose."
"But you're the crowd favorite; you know how to get them hype, and we miss you. Besides, you'll wanna do it when I tell you all the shit Tyrell's been saying."
"What the hell has he been saying?"
"He said you don't have what it takes to be a dancer anymore now that you're a wife and a mother and since you probably haven't danced in a while."
Is he so bitter that he had to talk shit about me behind my back?
"Alright. I'll do it as long as I can be in the background or something."
"Well that's gonna be a problem because we've already picked the songs and you're the lead in every dance you're in," she hesitated.
"What?" she smiled, "think of it as a celebration of your return to the dance world. And I know you miss performing for people too."
A smirk crept up on her face and I started smiling because she's right. "Alright, fine. I'll do it."
"Good! We're having a meeting on Friday and the show is August 18."
"Okay," I nodded.
The doorbell rang, so I excused myself and went to answer it. No one was at the door, but there was an envelope on the ground, and it was addressed to Blake & I.
I went back in the living room and everyone turned to look at me.
"Who was it," Blake asked.
"No one was there, but this was on the ground," I said, sitting next to him and giving him the envelope.
While DJ was holding Brielle and making funny faces at her, Blake opened the envelope. I laid my head on his shoulder as he pulled out what looked like pictures. When I saw the first one, I quickly sat up and my eyes watered.
These were pictures of me naked and tied up the day Curtis raped me. On the back of the picture, he wrote:
Congratulations on the wedding. Consider this a present from me to the lovely couple.
I don't understand how even behind bars he can still manage to ruin my life.
Blake was so pissed, he ripped up the pictures and threw them away. I just sat there with tears in my eyes because I didn't know what to do.
"Bri, are you okay?" Blake asked, sitting back down.
I looked up at Blake, then over to DJ and Monique, and they were all looking at me sympathetically.
"Y-yeah, I'm fine. I'm gonna...I'm gonna go take a nap. I'm kinda tired."
I stood up from the couch and slowly went up to the bedroom without saying anything to anyone. I lied on the bed and silently cried myself to sleep.
This shit is never gonna stop...
PSA: Tyrell is fake af & Curtis is still a creep.
