2:30 pm Kalos Central Time, Vaniville Town

"Hey, Ash! We're here!" Serena called out to the raven-haired teenager, announcing her presence, happily. 

She and her mother had just finished buying pastries and cake from the local Vaniville Town Bakery and have made their way towards the Pokémon Center. They noticed the raven-haired trainer at the back battlefield with his Pokémon, so they decided to approach him.

Ash was in the middle of instructing his Hawlucha and Greninja, but stopped when he heard the familiar beautiful, angelic voice. Ash turned his head around to see Serena and her mother walking to him with a couple of bags in their hands.

"Hawlucha, Greninja. I need the both of you to return to your Poké Balls for now." Ash said to his Pokémon. They both nodded and allowed their trainer to recall them into the sphere-shaped devices.

"Hi Serena, I see you are back." Ash greeted and walked up to Serena and her mother to meet them halfway. He flashed the honey-blonde girl his signature smile, which often made Serena's heart beat faster.

"Pika-chu." Pikachu squeaked, while being on his trainer's shoulder.

"Yeah, my mother and I had such fun. We bought some pastries for everyone at the local bakery." Serena said. Her eyes then glimmered and shined brightly. "Which reminds me, I brought you our cake!"

Serena gently placed her bag on the nearby table. She then pulled out a white-colored box topped with a red bow. When she opened it, the inside of the box revealed a larger than average-sized cake covered in white frosting, whipped cream, and strawberries. The cake was enough to feed two people.

"Awesome!" Ash beamed. He was looking forward to eating the cake Serena bought for the two of them.

Serena could see that Ash was impressed by the cake and giggled. "This is an Alcremie cream cake. It's great for c-couples to share." Serena blushed as she said that. She and Ash weren't a couple at the moment, but she hoped their relationship status would change very soon.

Ash too, started to blush. Serena seemed to have bought a couples cake for them to share. "Does... does she want us to be a couple? Is she hinting at it or am I dense?"

The raven-haired teenager shook his thoughts away and smiled kindly at the honey-blonde teenager. He'll think about it later. After all, how could he resist such a delicious-looking cake and even a more delicious and sweet girl.

"Since you bought it, I'm sure it tastes great!" Ash said and grabbed a seat. Serena then pulled out a seat next to him and sat down. Ash's blushed darkened slightly at the idea that he and Serena were about to share such a fine delicacy.

"Pika-pika!" Pikachu squeaked out cheerfully. The electric mouse Pokémon was also interested in the cake Serena bought for her and Ash. He definitely wanted a taste.

"Say, Ash. Where's Tierno?" Grace asked the raven-haired teenager, while looking around the outside area. She noticed that there was no sign of him. "I thought he was with you."

"Oh, he told me he was going to turn his Pokémon over to Nurse Joy to get them healed. We had a double battle earlier." Ash replied to the older woman, not taking his eyes off Serena.

"I see. Anyways kiddos, enjoy your cake. I need to use the lady's room and wash up." Grace said and left to go inside the Pokémon Center. That left Ash and Serena alone together with Pikachu.
