The next day, Kageyama woke up besides Hinata because he stayed the night. He was given permission from Shoyo's mother of course, but the smaller boy practically begged for Tobio to be able to sleepover. His mother gave in pretty easily since she really was fond of the dark haired setter. Plus, it helped that Natsu wanted to hang out with the taller boy also.

"Carry me Tobio-san!" Natsu stood at Kageyama's feet, opening and closing her hands as they were raised for the taller boy to carry her. Shoyo watched with annoyance, seeing his little sister take all of Tobio's attention away from him.

"Shoyo, you have a sour look on your face." Natsu pointed out from Kageyama's shoulders. Tobio and the small orange haired girl was staring hardly at Shoyo, both trying to figure out what was wrong with him. Eventually, the little girl figured it out before the setter did, as she waved goodbye to both of them and went to go find her mother.

"You know you don't ALWAYS have to play with her." Hinata spoke in such a tone where it was blatantly obvious that he was actually jealous. After Natsu left, and after hearing Shoyo's tone, Kageyama pieced it all together.

"I cannot believe you're jealous right now." Kageyama burst into a cackled, holding his stomach and bending over while he was hysterically laughing. Hinata looked at him with a bitter pout on his face, upset that the taller boy was laughing at him. "You're such a dumbass!" He continued to howl, tears of laughter forming in the corner of his eyes.

"Be quiet stupid Kageyama!" Hinata shouted towards the boy whose laughter wouldn't stop.

"You're so...stupid...!" Kageyama just wouldn't stop taunting and cackling at the shorter boy who was extremely close to kicking him out of the hospital room.
"Hahhh, so do you wanna do anything today?" He wiped the tears of laughter off the corner of his eyes, dialing down his laughter.

"Out." Hinata demanded, cocking his pointer finger out the door. The shorter boy had it with Kageyama's relentless jokes, even though he found it sort of funny.

"Alright, later." Kageyama bluntly waved, heading out of the room door, until Hinata stopped him because he never thought the taller boy would actually leave. "You'll never win dumbass." He chuckled, looking down on the boy who was clinging to his waist, not wanting him to leave.

"I will one day." Hinata answered back, letting go of the taller boy who wasn't planning to go anywhere. "But yes, I want to go somewhere today." He smiled, running over to his tableside drawers that he kept some of his clothes in. He rummaged through them for a while, but eventually pulled out a pair of swim trunks. "Let's go to the beach!"

"I don't have swim tru-!"

THWAP!

Before Kageyama could argue that he didn't have any swim shorts, the smaller boy pulled a bigger pair out of the drawer, forcefully throwing it into the taller boy's face. It had the same design but different color than Shoyo's.

"How did you get my size?" Kageyama asked, looking at the tag of the shorts to see that it was exactly his size. It wasn't too big, and it wasn't too small.

"My mom went shopping with your mom before you came, so I told her to buy us swim shorts." Hinata smiled, giving Kageyama a positive thumbs up. This resulted in Tobio turning red because that meant the smaller boy was actually thinking of him. "Anyways, put it on and let's go!" He eagerly ran to the bathroom to go and change.

'Jeez, what am I ever gonna do with you?' Kageyama happily sighed.

---

"Come on Kageyama!" Hinata buoyantly giggled, splashing in the sea water. They went to a black sand beach where the water was so clear, it contrasted against the dark sand. You could see colorful fishes swimming in the water, entering and exiting through the coral reefs and the small holes in the rocks. When they got there, Shoyo practically dived into the ocean, leaving Tobio to carry all of the drinks and things like that.

"Be patient you moron. You made me carry all of the stuff." Kageyama grumbled, placing the ice cooler, and the bags down onto the dark sand. He took off his shirt, going to join the shorter boy in the water.

SPLASH!

"Hey!" Kageyama exclaimed, being hit by a sudden splash of cold, salty water. It came from the orange haired boy who looked like he was having the time of his life.
He's hardly been to the beach because of all his treatments, but he absolutely loved the times when he could come.

Both boys splashed in the water like they were little kids again. Smiles just naturally grew on both of their faces, as this would become one of their memories that they would look back at with each other.

"Thanks for coming with me today, Kageyama." Hinata smiled, walking out of the water to eat lunch along with the taller boy. "I don't really get to come to the beach since the hot sun affects my skin a lot but, I'm glad I could come with you today." He plopped down onto the towel, rummaging through the ice cooler that had their sandwiches his mom made for them.

"If the sun affects your skin, how come you're able to come today?" Kageyama asked, biting into one of the sandwiches, and dusting some sand off the side of Shoyo's eye.

"Well, I can occasionally come to the beach. Plus, I haven't been here in a while, so it's nice." Shoyo joyously chuckled, feeling Tobio's cold finger brush against the side of his face. They both sat next to each other on the sand, eating while just chatting and looking out into the landscape in front of them.

It was somehow odd.
If you were to ask these two in the beginning of their first year of high school, "is there any chance for any type of relationship between you two?" It's almost 100% that they would've both shouted at you and said no.
Who knew that they'd both be in a relationship with each other? Especially a romantic one. And actually happy.

Even if one of them didn't have much time.
