"I'm going to get the food, my love." He smiles, getting ready to go. My love. The phrase makes my body combust. Harry and I came to a mutual agreement that Mum cooking the food is probably not a great idea considering how much she's already consumed.
He reaches down for a long-lasting kiss, the warmth spreading everywhere, from my fingers and my toes. "Be safe," I smile back.
He leads me to the doors, keeping our touch. "I won't be too long," The door swings open as he walks outside. "Love you."
The door shuts as my stomach flips, my cheeks flush as I daydream about him until I hear a loud smash of glass from the kitchen. I feel my face drop as I rush to see if everything is okay. "Mum, are you okay?" I ask, seeing her in a puddle of liquor on the floor.
I help her rise to her feet as she takes a long, deep breath to speak. "I'm fine," She says. Before I could respond, she continues "So, why did you leave?" She says, a big hint of coldness in her voice, making my stomach drop.
"I.. Well-"
"Why did you leave?" She repeats herself.
"It doesn't concern you." I say bluntly as I watch mum's blood boil. I won't say why. Because she's the reason why.
I watch her anger show. The old her has come back. "Well it does fucking concern me! Why did you leave?" She says walking up to me. I feel myself flinch as coldness enters the room and terrible memories play.
"You're a fucking murderer!"
"Tobias?"
"Are you mad at me?"
"Luna, I know you were only trying to help your mother. I can't help but be a little be mad but I'm more disappointed you didn't follow the rules,"
"Don't use your little sob story on me, young lady!"
I pinch my eyes shut to disclose the memories. "It was legal." I make my point, only making her madder. I smell the scent of alcohol on her clothes, that's how close she is.
"Where's dad?" I change the subject.
"He's dead, okay? He's dead. Maybe if you didn't fucking kill our child, he'd still be here." She shouts. With those words, my eyes fill with tears.
My heart stops beating and my world tears apart.
