The days after that incident, Kageyama had been avoiding Hinata for a while. He wasn't initially planning to but, he was just too overwhelmed with embarrassment that the smaller boy saw him almost as red as a tomato. Shoyo realized that he was being avoided and for some reason, it started to rile him up. He didn't want to be avoided by the taller setter.

"Hey Kagey-!" Hinata called out, but was once ignored by Tobio who was speeding away. As he predicted, he could feel anger bubbling within him. "GET BACK HERE!" He finally snapped after days, as his feet started to pick up to chase after the taller boy. Kageyama got wind of this, so he started to sprint just like the smaller boy.

"Oh ho ho! Get 'em Hinata!"
"AHAH run Kageyama!"

Clashing voices of their classmates and just mutual people who knew the two boys encouraged their behavior, all watching them chase each other through the halls. This was pretty normal behavior so, everyone just sat back and watched their free entertainment.

"STOP CHASING ME DUMBASS!" Kageyama shouted, looking back to see an orange head of hair running so quick that it was just a blurred blob. 'What the hell is his issue?!' He huffed, still running.

"NOT UNTIL I CATCH YOU!" Shoyo shouted back, quickening up his feet. When he did that, so did Tobio.
The shorter boy was very, very quick on his feet but, Kageyama had the advantage since his legs were longer. Still, the speed and the gap between them was persistently even. The two of them continued to run through the halls until they got outside and the taller boy eventually lost his footing.

THUD!

"DUMBASS! WHAT'S WRONG WITH YOU?!" Kageyama struggled while Hinata was putting all his weight on top of him. "Why would you chase me like a wild animal?!" He flipped, panting and heaving from his sprint.

"Why are you avoiding me, stupid Kageyama?!" Hinata snapped, a hint of angry fire in his eyes. Not only did he lose his best friend for a few days, he also wanted an explanation for what happened that night after practice.
Kageyama just jerked his head the other way, refusing to explain. He just planned to tell the shorter boy that it was all in his imagination, and that he wasn't avoiding him.
But he knew Shoyo couldn't be that stupid.

"Get off of me." Kageyama sneered, shoving the shorter boy off of him. It wasn't that hard since Hinata was almost as light as a feather. Tobio stood up, dusting himself off and getting ready to walk away like this never happened.

"Hey! K-Kageyama!" Hinata pinched the back of Kageyama's uniform, shaking with both anger and discouragement. He didn't quite understand why Tobio was avoiding him, but he didn't like it.

"What now-" Kageyama scoffed, but when he looked down, there were unusual tears plopping out of the shorter boy's eyes. "Why the hell are you crying?!" He suddenly flipped out, thinking that Hinata got hurt in the fall or something since he's learned the orange haired boy's body was pretty fragile. "Did you get hu-"

"I asked you. Why are you avoiding me, Kageyama?" Hinata asked in a stern, but shaky voice. By now, everyone had finished watching a while ago since classes started but, these two were still bickering outside. The tears were kind of just coming out by itself, and his lip was quivering, waiting for Tobio's response. The taller boy didn't really know what to say since, he hasn't really seen Shoyo cry recently.

"U- Uh, don't cry?" Kageyama struggled to console the smaller boy, sounding more like a question than an act of sympathy. 'What am I supposed to do?' He slowly panicked, seeing as the orange haired boy was still sniffling and wiping his tears.

"Wh- Why were you av- avoiding me Kageyamaaaaa!" Hinata wailed, seeming a bit over dramatic for Kageyama's liking. He didn't have an answer to that question, or not one that he could say out loud without feeling embarrassed. So a thought popped up in his head when he used to cry, and what his older sister used to do to comfort him as a kid.

"Sorry.." Kageyama mumbled, pulling the teared, shorter boy into his arms for a hug. He remembered his sister Miwa doing this for him after their grandfather died, and Tobio was non-stop crying. Shoyo was a bit shocked by this, not used to feeling skinship with the taller boy. But even if he was a bit taken aback by this, he squeezed the back of the dark haired setter's shirt, burying his face into his chest.

At first, Kageyama thought that Hinata was just being overly dramatic with the tears and sobs, but by the way the shorter boy was clutching onto the taller one, it seemed genuine. Like Shoyo was genuinely upset that Tobio was avoiding him.

"It's just...you make me feel strange." Kageyama muttered, too quiet for Shoyo to hear. But it was true. There was a churning feeling inside of Tobio's stomach that was too hard for him to describe with words. "I won't avoid you, okay? Just stop crying or people will think I bully you or something." He murmured, still squeezing the smaller boy tight.

"You are a bully, and you better not." Shoyo quietly mumbled, not knowing why he was so upset with Kageyama. Upset enough to make tears come out of his eyes. Well of course anyone would be upset if their friend avoided them but, it was strangely different this time.
It felt as if the world would end, and hell would freeze over if Tobio kept ignoring the orange haired boy. He felt his chest tightening up every single time he would see the taller boy duck just to avoid his presence.

It was like he was in love with Tobio Kageyama?
