I checked my phone again. It had been pinging nonstop and I groaned. It's not like I wasn't grateful someone was reaching out to me it was just why now? It's three in the morning and I do not have the capacity to deal with other people's shit right now. I slid up the home screen and the password screen was in front of my face. I entered the password and it let me into my own phone, immediately opening the messages. Three missed calls from Anteater Boy Twelve missed messages from Anteater Boy One missed message from Monnie I tapped on Monnie's first. She had sent me a text regarding if I would like to go out to a bar about five hours ago, but I had already fell asleep. I left her a text saying sorry and openered up Wilbur's texts. Anteater Boy: Hey Heyyyy You awake? Get up get up get up get up One missed call Answer Answer me Y/NNN One missed call I'm lonelyyyy I'm also streaming haha One missed call You are so mean to me 👺 Fine, sleep. Actually no. Answer. Urrhhh
I frowned at the millions of messages on the bright screen. I started to type out an angry text but I soon felt my eyes get droopy and next thing I knew the phone was on my face and I was asleep.
"Y/N? It's me, Monnie. You awake?" I blinked a few times, only to see black. I suddenly felt pressure in my nose and picked up the phone that now was imprinted with some marks. I sighed a bit as My eyes adjusted to the lights. I rubbed my eyes and sat up, looking around. My room was slightly messy and half of my doona was on the floor. I shook my head and turned to see Monnie sitting on the edge of my bed.
"Who said you could sit on my bed." I croaked. She laughed a bit, her face lighting up. "Even when you've slept for twelve hours straight you're an ass." "Twelve hours..?" I grabbed my phone, desperately turning it on. The screen blinked into existence and I saw the time. 2:48 pm
I gasped a bit and said: "Get out Monnie, I need to change. I'm almost late for work. Go, go!" She put her hands up and pulled back the divider curtain, stepping into her even messier room and drawing it back one again. I ran around, picked out a few clothes and quickly pulled them on, almost leaving on my Pajamas underneath.

(Same thing, no likey, imagine what you want. This is just an idea.) I ran out of the room, past Monnie who was listing to music, down the stairs, through the lounge room and to the key stand, frantically grabbing my keys before sprinting outside. I ran through the old, unkempt garden and i shoved open the rusty gate. I opened the door to my car, leaping inside and fumbling to put the keys to start the car. I finally succeeded and pulled out of my horizontal parking outside the house. I drove as fast as I could down all of the roads. I checked the time for a second and sped up a bit. 2:57pm
(Catcalling soon)
I pulled up at the cafe and leapt out. Running into their and tying my apron around my waist. I walked behind the counter and started up everything, just as my boss walked through the door. My boss was only a year older than me at 25 and he is a whole lot less mature.
As I walked past he whistled; "Nice."and I growled, shooting him a death stare. He smiled sickly back, so I said: "I swear to god Jared, you have a girlfriend."
I hated him with all of myself and everyone else, and every time he did that I was getting closer and closer to quitting. I hated this job either way, and I was bound to quit. I saw a group of teenage girls sitting at a table and went over to serve them.

It was nearing six o'clock, the end of my shift for the day. The door bell tinkled signalling the last of other customers going We were going to start closing in about twenty minutes so I went over to the last remaining customer who was sitting alone near a window. He seemed very interested in a notebook and he was scribbling down something while strumming a at a guitar. I didn't kick him out before while I was serving others because I found his light singing and random strums quote comforting. I approached him and said to him that he might want to order because we were closing very soon. I tapped his shoulder and he turned around, giving me a grin. "Y/N!"
Wilbur was sitting there, his beanie crooked and his smile wide. He wore a black sweater and normal pants and his hair looked so fluffy. I had to psychically stop myself from reaching out and playing with the little curls. He lent the guitar up against the chair and motioned for me to sit at the other side of the circle table. I pulled back the chair and sat down, looking at the notepad with random lines scribbled on them. Some were kind of creepy, others cute, some... weird. He was writing about an ex or something being with Jared. All of a sudden something clicked. "Are you writing about the Jared who works here?" He nodded, pursing his lips. I hadn't noticed his lips when we first met. I made a mental note to noticed people's lips more. I laughed a bit though at his response. "Why are you at the cafe where.." I read some more lyrics and continued: "Your ex's boyfriend works?" He laughed too, his lips stretching and his eyes squinting. "Nothing like some motivational hatred to help you write a song." I laughed again. It felt nice being here, being able to laugh with someone without hesitation. I had that with Monnie but now it feels... different. It was really nice.
"Anyway, about the stream..."
We started to make plans. I told him I would talk to him later as he left. I finished shutting down the store before I got in the car and started the ignition. I smiled again, thinking about my latest interaction with Wilbur soot. I found myself not being able to stop, and smiling all the way home.
