"What?" I whispered to myself. What I saw in the mirror was a smooth tanned face staring back with light blue irises, and...
Metal on my face?
There was a smooth piece of metal covering my mouth, muffling my voice. It was like a shield covering half my face. It made me look even more dominent, and slightly creepy...
I turned around. "Is this what you were scared about?" I asked, having to move my mouth smaller than usual. "It's just a face-shield. Nothing to be worried about." When I saw the uncertain look on Gale's face, I quickly tried to reassur him. "Look, you're going to have to get used to seeing me change. Ratchet said it's not over."
"Okay..." Gale chuckled a little. "Do you know how to remove it?"
"Uh, no. This is the first time I've ever encountered this change. I'll try, though." I turned back to look in the sliver of a mirror, then I did the same thing I did to remove my tire-feet.
Soon, it slowly shifted back into my cheeks to reveal my mouth again and my eyes clicked back to their normal color. "Okay, that's done. I wonder if anything else if going to pop up soon?" I do not know why I just said that aloud.
"Hey, your eyes turned off."
"Haha. I feel bad for you, finding out all these new things, and that you're the daughter of...what's his name?" Gale scratched his chin. "Megatank? Megatruck? Mega-"
"Megatron," I corrected him. "And yes, that's very reassuring."
"Sorry," Gale sighed. "How about we have some lunch?"
"Actually, I have it pretty covered." I stuck a hand into my pocket to reveal the small bottle of glowing blue energon. "Remember Optimus saying to me to drink this constantly so that my parts won't lock up?"
"Well, its actually pretty good. It tastes like water with a tang of metal flavoring."
"And you like the taste of metal?" Gale frowned.
"Uh, yeah. I used to not, but I guess that, when I got clicked on by the All-Spark slice that was at the museum, I developed this liking for metal." I grinned, then opened the bottle and drank it all in one gulp. I licked my lips. "Ah. And it fills you up, too!"
"Oh, that's great..." Gale was wincing at how I drank the stuff. Then he surprised me by holding up a finger and brushing my bottom lip and chin. I froze.
"You had some of it on your mouth." Gale must've seen the expression on my face and explained.
"Oh." I then saw the blue stuff on his finger. "Well, I could have gotten it myself."
"But I wanted to do it." His voice was nothing but a whisper, and his face was suddenly inches from mine. "Remember the kiss we had last night?"
"Uh, yeah. You kissed me," I said, lightly pushing him away.
"Right..." Gale scratched the back of his head in embarrassment.
"So," I said, clasping my hands behind my back and swinging myself back and forth on my heels, "you want to go back to the cafeteria? You must be starving."
"Oh, yeah." Gale blushed as his stomach growled.
I chuckled. "Don't worry. I hear it's Taco Tuesday." I took my hand in his as we walked out of the dark Hall Z and out into a lighter hallway. We strolled for a bit, making jokes, puns, whatever we could think of that would fill in time before we got to our destination.
