the longest day of my life
started when the wind blew fast
sending the leaves swirling,
snow flying.
the longest day of my life
continued when peppermint tea
splashed onto my shirt,
a shirt that was once yours.
the longest day of my life
continued
and i finally fell,
wind causing my hair to tangle,
my cup to be blown away.
the longest day of my life
came to an end when two hands,
hands i knew so well,
helped me up,
the blizzard blurring everything.
the longest day of my life
ended when i looked into your eyes
and you smiled.
