Do you ever have that sense of deja vu? That feeling where you feel like you've met someone before you've actually met them? It's trippy, and it's also frustrating when you can't figure out where you've met them before. You also feel like there's some sort of connection between you two, when you're nothing else but friends.
Tobio Kageyama, and Shoyo Hinata will soon come to learn that their friendship hadn't formed in their first year of high school...
It happened long ago, at someplace they've already forgotten.
---
"HINATA YOU MORON, WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!" Kageyama loudly bellowed, startling and agitating the already frustrated smaller boy. They were in the middle of a practice match against Aoba Johsai, and Hinata had missed one of Tobio's almost perfect sets. "It was right there! How could you miss it?!" He continued on, shouting at the shorter boy.
"IT WAS JUST ONE MISTAKE! I WON'T MAKE IT AGAIN!" Shoyo ear-splittingly apologized, planning to land a perfect spike on the next round. "Just send me another one!" He commanded, hearing the whistle for the next round to start.
"Calm down you two!" Daichi shouted, demanding for the two boys to quit arguing in the middle of a match. It caused a bunch of commotion, as Seijoh stared at Kageyama and Hinata. "Just get the next one Hinata!" He instructed.
"Yes Captain!" Shoyo sternly yelled, getting back into his stance up in the front. It was Kageyama's serve, as the dark haired boy planned to land an ace serve. But, Iwaizumi from Seijoh had received it before it hit their side of the court.
"Nice receive Iwa-chan!" Oikawa cheerfully praised his spiker.
This match went on for around half an hour, both teams passing the ball back and forth, gaining and losing points for each of them. After the match ended, Seijoh ended up taking 2/3 sets, winning by a mere 2 points. This showed that Karasuno had been improving tremendously since the last time, they lost by 2 whole sets.
"Thank you for the game!" Both Karasuno and Seijoh bowed towards one another, facing each other at the opposite ends of the court.
"Good job today, we'll get it next time." Daichi encouraged the discouraged boys who just took a defeat against one of the teams they were so desperately trying to beat. Even though it was a practice match, it still stung to lose the little ones.
Hinata's performance was a bit off today, most likely due to the lack of sleep he got the night before. The coaches always told them to sleep early but, the orange haired boy didn't listen. So, he felt the need to apologize to Kageyama (even though he didn't want to), because the dark haired setter's sets were perfect but, it was partly Shoyo's fault they lost today. The smaller boy walked over to Tobio, who was currently sipping out of his water bottle.
"I'm sorry for my spikes, Kageyama!" Shoyo gulped, forcefully bowing his head down to the taller boy. It was rare for the orange haired boy to apologize to Tobio but, he did it when he found it absolutely necessary.
"At least you're aware you stunk today." Kageyama scoffed, continuing to gulp out of his water bottle, resulting in Shoyo raising his head up angrily.
"I was apologizing Stupidyama! You could've at least said it was okay, or something!" Hinata disheartenedly pouted, already feeling bad about his skills on the court. The taller boy just made him feel worse about it.
"Well, it's not okay. Sleep earlier dumbass." Tobio didn't take in what Shoyo had requested, saying it how it is. But it was true, it wasn't okay, and Hinata did need to sleep earlier. "Your eye bags make it obvious." He jabbed his finger at the smaller boy's under-eye, pointing out the dark rings.
"Ouch...!" Hinata grumbled, shoving Tobio's finger away, and rubbing the area on where the taller boy poked. "Don't go around poking other people's eyes Kageyama!" He scolded, lecturing Kageyama on basic manners.
"DoN't gO aRoUnD pOkInG oThEr PeOplE's eYes KagEyAmA!" Tobio mocked, not liking to be lectured by Hinata, even if he knew what the orange haired boy was saying made sense. "And, you don't tell me what to do dumbass." He continuously jabbed his two index fingers around Shoyo's face, annoying the shorter boy.
"I said...stop poking me...Kageyama!!" Hinata struggled to get that sentence out, trying to push Tobio's fingers away. 'Two can play at this game, Kageyama!' He thought to himself, starting to jab at Kageyama's torso, since the shorter boy thought it was too much effort to reach the taller boy's face. They continued on like this, having their team just avert their eyes since they were all used to it by now. That was until Daichi had to break it up, or else they'd end up with red finger marks all over themselves.
"Okay you two, knock it off already." Daichi disappointingly sighed, standing in the middle of the two boys. 'What are we going to do with you guys?' He double sighed to himself, eyeing the two immature boys who stopped arguing as quick as they started.
"Okay, good game today guys. Make sure to get some rest, you guys have school tomorrow." Coach Ukai told the Karasuno members, especially eyeing the smaller boy when he said 'get some rest'.
"Yes Coach!" The Karasuno boys bowed, filing out of Aoba Johsai's gym. They all filed onto their team's bus, drudging down the aisle, and slumping into all of their seats. The normal pairs sat together, too exhausted to set their bags in the overhead compartments. So, they just tossed it below their seats, most of them falling asleep once their butts hit their seats.
"Hey you moron, scoot in!" Kageyama grumbled, shoving the smaller boy more into the seat. Shoyo sat in the middle of the seat, leaving no room for Tobio, plus he was too tired to move. 'Damn you, Hinata.' He huffed to himself, also slumping into his seat.
Before the taller boy could argue with Shoyo, he felt a small amount of pressure fall onto his shoulder. He could feel his neck tingle as Hinata's bright, orange hair brushed the bare part of his neck. Tobio wanted to push Hinata off but, he was so exhausted that he ended up falling asleep also. His head ended up falling onto the smaller boy's, as the both of them drifted off into a slumber.
