It was despair, and a nightmarish scene, straight out of a horror movie come to life, lots and lots of corpses were hanging from the thatched, broken ceiling of this witch-house that we had entered. All of them were forest elves, wrapped by their torso in fine, silk threads. The thought that those were once living and breathing people sends chills down my spine. Their eyes are lifeless, and their faces are frozen in horror, as if the sight of something had paralyzed them on the spot.

The area on which we had been previouly standing had a trap set up with the use of magic, which would activate as you slide in and slice you into half, on the spot. Normal people would definitely have a hard time figuring this out, and they would have their lives taken away. For the first time ever, I feel thankful for bringing this caveman holy-moly beast along,
And just like those cliche horror movies, the door shut itself and was nowhere to be seen again.

R: "So my guess was right"
K:" what guess?"
R: " I could smell the presence of a dungeon nearby, a tough one at that"
K:" a dungeon! Did we just walk into a dungeon!"
R: "Sshh! Keep it Quiet,. You human pipsqueak. We are currently inside a subspace that leads to the dungeon, it was most probably set up to keep people away from the main entrance, judging from it's looks, you either die here or you go inside the dungeon. The subspace boss must be somewhere near. "

Dungeons in this world were a long lost tale similar to towers and dungeons in mmorpg amd video games. A dungeon is a living and breathing being of it's own, you kill the monsters inside and get rewards, be it gold, gems or portions in return. Almost all of the dungeons in this world were already conquered by the summoned heroes, powerful natives or the demon kings, such that there are none left today. Those days going inside a dungeon is basically a death sentence, if you are not powerful enough to conquer the dungeon, the dungeon will conquer you. They say that once you entered the dungeon, you will never be able to leave it.

A subspace trap is basically a baby dungeon that guards the entrance to the main one, anyone foolish enough to step in, is brutally murdered. While dungeons can be artificial, a subspace is made by natural forces, when the entrance of dungeons are nearby, places that originally existed there become dungeon by themselves. Once the main boss of the dungeon is defeated, the space turns back to normal. Ah! I am definitely screwed, infact, I am dead now. I dreamt of a future where I could make cookies and cakes, and sell them for living, guess what? I am going to be turned into a cookie soon, for this dungeon! Just like these forest elves above.

He took my hand and dragged me along, with quiet, slow steps and careful feet, one wrong move and another trap can take you to hell
"Walk quietly human, the space boss is probably a lesser tateract spider, those creatures are really nasty and sensitive to noise" he explained, but my mind was somewhere else.

I just wanted to train in combat and self defence, will I turn into a remorseless killer now? The floor boss is also going to be a living and breathing animal, just like me, even though he has probably murdered these people here. Just how do those manga heroes do it, without feeling anything at all? I should probably rely on him for survival, but can I? And to what extent? Will not I be a dead weight to him here, he is good at magic and at combat, like a natural predators and I am just weak and frail for now. How long will I have to stay here? Will my entire life be over here, just like that, before it can even begin? The forest was definitely a bad option I was red with fear and tears trickled down my cheek, I realised that I had been tightly clenching his hand for too long.

"Don't break my hand, Human. We will need it to get out of here." I quickly loosened my grip, when he pulled my a bit closer.

".. this isn't the time for crying, human, i will make sure that both of us get out of this hellhole, alive and well" he said, while putting our hands together, and it felt really warm.

This idiot! He really says words that I really want to hear sometimes, but I just can't stay and watch as my contracted beast goes out there and fights, as much as I hate being involved in violence and bloodshed like these, I can't swallow my pride and watch as he risks his life and Yanks the hell out of those monsters. I want to fight too, so I can get the hell out of here.

" I want to become stonger ... To be able to fight alongside you . I can't stay that frail and weak damsel forever. Will you help me?" my voice was heavy with tears, but I was convinced.

"..human, you sure you can do that? I am your contracted beast and one of my roles are to fulfill your wishes. I am going to be honest, it is going to be a lot more tougher for an omega like you."

"Screw alpha, beta, omega! Before being an Omega, I am my own person, more than just a mere breeder for the next generation. If there's adversity and hardness, I will face it by myself. Don't assume my worth just because of my gender, If I want something, I will achieve it."

" For the first time have I ever liked your stubbornness and bluntness. Rat, we are going to work you to death now, be ready"

Well, persuading him to train me turned out to be a lot more easier than expected. He did sound a bit more intimidating than usual... Did I make the right decision? This entire time, we had been fixed to that place like statues, and now, we had to start moving, it sure hurt a bit to stay in the same place. Light footsteps, like those of an assassin resumed again.

As we approached the half broken stairs, I experienced a stong pull, backwards. It was so strong that I was forced out of his hand. Riku turned back to look at what could have possibly happened, and a slight curse left his lips. I was in the mid-air for a few seconds, till I fell on the floor with a thud. I felt a sharp pain and a lot of numbness in my legs, enough to force tears out of my eyes. It hurt a lot.

When I turned around to see the assailant, I had seen the sight of death itself for the first time in my two lives.
