My Nightmare

Chapter 7

"Can't you see I'm replacing her for drinking the contents of her glass?" Lisander said.

"Why? Don't tell me you like my girlfriend," Kai said angrily.

"I'm not doing this only for your girlfriend. Didn't you see me doing it for the others too? Besides, I'm the one who should ask why? If you don't like me doing this for your girlfriend, why don't you do it for her?" Lisander answered dryly.

Kai fell silent. He could neither answer nor do anything. So Lisander pulled his hand that Kai was holding, then drained my glass and returned to his original place. I saw Jisoo smile a little.

What Lisander said has a point. He did it for Chaeyoung, Yeri, and Jisoo too. So maybe I shouldn't think any further. And after he said his point to Kai, I thought again of the truth or dare game earlier when Bobby dared me to kiss Sehun's lips. Kai also said nothing. Maybe like before, this was just a game for him, and he might give me a chance to have some fun.

But with my condition, which has a low tolerance for alcohol, of course, I would be very grateful for what Lisander did.

The game continued with a lack of enthusiasm after a bit of tension between Kai and Lisander.

The sixth ball from Taemin came into my glass, and everyone just cheered quietly then fell silent as if waiting for what would happen. Kai was standing still, and I was about to grab my glass when I heard to the sound of "Tsk" behind me and see Lisander grabbing my glass again before my hand reached it and immediately drained its contents like the previous glasses.

Someone cheered, trying to make this strange atmosphere even more cheerful, and was followed by another.

In the seventh glass, I held Lisander's hand and stopped him drinking my glass. But he released my grip from his hand and shook his head lightly before finishing it.

On the eighth ball that Taemin was about to throw, and because he didn't miss a single one, Lisander didn't bother to go back to his place beside Jisoo and Chaeng again but was standing next to me. And as soon as the ball landed in my glass, he immediately took the ball out and gave it to me before he finished it, and then with the back of his hand, he wiped his lips.

In the ninth ball that Taemin threw perfectly, Lisander returned to take the glass but Kai snatched it then drained its contents and slammed the empty glass onto the floor then looked at Lisander sharply.

Lisander just gave him a flat stare and went his way through the crowd.

Sehun awkwardly declared Team B's victory. Once again, our game ended badly.

Jisoo and Chaeyoung looked at me for a while and smiled sadly, then mouthed 'be right back' and I nodded my answer.

"Jennie. It's not that I don't want to replace you in punishment," Kai said after our game ended and the others continued to party, leaving the two of us alone.
