Looking out the window, I see that we are stopped in front of two identical houses, one is green whilst the other is blue. There was a ribbon tied to the door of the blue house, signifying it to be my home.
Mr. Han opens the car door, allowing Siyang and myself to exit the vehicle. Walking up to us, Mr. Han holds out a set of keys, placing them in my hands.
"All of your things are already inside. And while your grandfather has allowed you to travel however you like, he has requested that you at least always travel with Siyang or myself, so that we may keep you safe." He tells me.
"I know, I know. I promise, I'll be safe." I tell Mr. Han, holding the keys in my hand.
"Well then, I will see you later then, Miss Yu. Call me whenever you are in need of a ride, and I will come pick you up." Mr. Han tells me.
"That goes for you too, Mr. Mu." Mr. Han says, reaching forward and shaking Siyang's hand.
"Thank you, sir. I'll keep that in mind." Siyang says, shaking Mr. Han's hand.
"Now, if you'll both excuse me. I have to go meat with the new company drivers and explain your grandfather's schedule to them. I'll be going now." He says, bowing to Siyang and I, before climbing back into the car and driving away.
I turn, looking up at Siyang, before turning to look up at the blue house.
"Is this whole place just for me?" I ask, looking up at the house.
"I guess so." He says, looking down at me.
"Why don't you go inside and look around, then you can come over and have dinner. I'm sure my parents would love to see you again." He tells me.
"Sure, I can't wait!" I exclaim, as I begin walking up the stairs of my new house.
"Alright, be over in half an hour. Mom always starts dinner as soon as I get home." Siyang tells me, as he unlocks his own door.
"Okay, see you soon." I wave to him, watching as he disappears into his house.
Once I am alone, I turn, facing the door to my house. Taking the key in my hand, I unlock the door, swinging the door open. Walking into the house I first entered the living room. There was a big tv and 2 couches, covered in giant fluffy pillows.
I walk towards the kitchen, seeing a dining area connected just to the left of it.
"This place is perfect." I say to myself, running my hand across the kitchen counter.
I decide to go look upstairs. The first room I came across seemed to be a guest bedroom, with a small bathroom attached to it.
I then walk to the end of the hallway, coming to the main bedroom. I slowly open the door, walking in. There were sky blue sheets on the bed, and a bunch of pillows with matching covers on them. There was a huge walk-in closet, along with a giant bathroom.
Finishing looking around the room, I figured that it was time I went over to Siyang's house. I turn to leave the room, but stop as I see a picture frame on the night stand beside the bed.
I smile, picking the picture up. It was a picture of Siyang and I. We were around 9 or 10 in the picture. In the picture, I was hugging Siyang, a huge smile on my face. Meanwhile, Siyang had a straight face. The picture was taken after he had won a youth tennis match. I remember being so excited that he had won, while he didn't show any emotion on his face.
I smile to myself before placing the picture back onto the dresser. I left the room, heading to the front door. Once I exit the house, I lock the door before walking down the steps and to the house next door.
I was just about to ring the doorbell, when I felt a presence behind me. I quickly turn around, seeing a tall boy walking up the steps behind me.
"Excuse me, but is Mu Siyang home?" The boy asks me.
I freeze momentarily, staring up at this tall boy. He had chestnut colored hair, and dark brown eyes. He wore a blue polo shirt with a white long sleeve shirt underneath it. He furrowed his eyebrows. Something about the way he did this sent shivers down my spine. How could this guy look both scary and very handsome at the same time.
That's when I realized, I was staring for way too long. I quickly look away, clearing my throat , as if that would erase the awkwardness that had just occurred.
"I-I'm sorry.... yes. Siyang is home." I quickly say, answering the question that he had asked me before.
While staring at me, curiosity in his eyes, the boy reached into his bag, pulling out a package. It looked to be a roll of tape. I recognized it as I had always watched Siyang fixing up his tennis rackets, when we were younger and he had first started playing tennis.
The boy hands the roll of tape to me, before zipping his bag back up.
"Please give that to Siyang, that's the tape I promised him." The boy tells me, as he turns, walking back down the steps.
"Wait!" I call out, taking a step towards him.
He stops, turning to look back at me, a questioning look on his face.
"W-What's your name?" I ask him.
I wanted to know his name, mainly so I could ask Siyang about him. If he was giving Siyang tape for his tennis racket, this boy must have also played tennis. But I hadn't seen him on the tennis court back at the school.
Part of me secretly wished that he went to the school, but had just missed practice today. I hoped that I would get to see him again.
The boy smirked before finally speaking.
"Ji Jingwu." He tells me, before turning and walking away.
