Marco opened the door of the car for me, then rushed back to his own side. “Where are we going?” I asked after we were in the car. I tilted my head slightly, nonchalantly trying to act cute. “Don’t worry, you’ll see.” Marco said with a grin, as he reached a hand out and ruffled my hair. “Hey!” I exclaimed, blushing slightly. “I actually fixed my hair for you today!” This caused Marco to laugh, and with that, he started the car.

As we drove along in comfortable silence, I stared out the window at the scenery flashing by. The lights of the city were slowly fading, and it seemed like we were heading into the country. “Seriously Marco, what are we doing?” Marco simply turned to me and grinned. “Just wait and see.” We continued driving on, and I continued staring out the window.

About twenty minutes later, Marco stopped the car next to an open field. I turned and looked at him questioningly. “Did we run out of gas?” I asked. “No, silly. We’re here.” He grinned, got out of the car, and came around to my side to open my door. As I stepped out of the car, he snuck a kiss on my cheek. I turned bright red and smiled slightly. Marco walked around the back of the car, and pulled out a large blanket, which he proceeded to lay in the field. “I always have a back up plan.” He smiled, and turned to face me. “Let’s watch the sunset.” He sat down, and patted the ground next to him. With a smile, I also sat down.

Marco put an arm around my shoulder. I smiled, and leaned into his embrace. There was no place in the world I would rather be. I looked up at him and smiled. “I love you Marco.” He smiled back down at me. “I love you more Jean.” We both stared at the sun that was dipping down over the hills. The whole sky was a vibrant pink mixed with oranges and purple. Marco turned to me, and slowly leaned forward, kissing me softly. He then pulled back, and took off his jacket, putting it around my shoulders. “You looked cold.” He smiled, and we both stared at the now deep blue sky. The first star had appeared. “Make a wish.” Marco said as he turned to face me once again. “I wish that we’ll always be together.” Marco grinned, and we turned to face the sky again, sitting in loving silence.
