Hell

Maddy placed her last article of clothing into her new expensive dresser while taking a look around the room, groaning. It looked like something out of an expensive home decorating magazine. 'The perfect bedroom', as her mother Susan said. Stepping across the white carpet and over to her desk where her lap top was now placed, she quickly checked her emails, hoping her father or boyfriend had emailed her.

They hadn't. She sighed in frustration. Her mother had decided to marry Mike on Christmas day. They took a four day honeymoon in Hawaii, and then they started the move. Maddy, her mother Susan, and younger sister Ava moved from West Chester, Pennsylvania to Forks, Washington, and to Maddy, Forks was worse than Hell.

Maddy walked down the stairs and saw her mother and Mike sitting on the couch cuddled up in front of the big screen. She loved seeing a smile on her mother's face again, but hated that she ended up having to move across the country in order for her to get that smile. Maddy was now counting down the days until she turned eighteen, and was considered an adult. Then she would move back to Pennsylvania. She rolled her eye's hearing Claire's heels click against the wooden staircase.

"Daddy! I need some money. Megan and I are going shopping in Port Angeles." The blond bimbo said coming into the room, flipping her hair.

Mike reached into his leather wallet and pulled out several hundred dollar bills, and then handed her a credit card, encase the cash wasn't enough. Claire kissed him on the cheek and bounced out of the room. Maddy crossed her arm's, she detested her new step sister. She was the total opposite to everything Maddy was. Claire was the head cheerleader of the high school Maddy was going to be attending. It wasn't bad enough she was going to start a new school as a Junior, but she was starting after Christmas break, which meant the clicks had already been formed, and she would be the outcast, the new girl, the freak in most cases. She knew Claire wasn't going to make her school life any better, Claire had made it very obvious that she disliked Maddy as well.

"Would you like to go buy a few things for school, Maddy?" Mike asked, leaning forward on the couch next to her mom.
"No, I've got things for school." Maddy said bitterly, she didn't want or need his money for luxuries.
"You don't need some new clothes or anything? The weather is different here than in Pennsylvania." Mike said.
"I've got winter clothing." Maddy said, trying not to snap his head off.

He nodded his head. Maddy turned around and walked up the stairs and down the elegant hallway. Mike's house (well, her new house now), was huge. She thought of it as a mansion rather than just a house. It had eight bedrooms, four baths, and twelve other rooms, not to mention a six car garage. Mike liked to flash his money, so she knew that was the reason for the huge house. Maddy walked inside her sister Ava's room and looked down at the young girl playing with the Barbie dolls, and the new dream house Mike had purchased her just yesterday.

"How's it going, kid?" Maddy ask walking over and taking a seat on her bed which was decked out in Hanna Montana.
"Good! Did you know that this house has lights? Working lights!" Ava squealed turning on a small switch within the dream house. Maddy chuckled, and rolled her eyes.

Mike had managed to buy Ava's love. She was young and couldn't realize what he was doing. It was almost everyday he came home with some sort of expensive toy for her. Maddy knew that Ava would probably never know how to manage, or even care about money if she had everything handed to her on a silver platter.

"Are you excited about school?" Ava's childish voice ask.
"Thrilled." Maddy said sarcastically, Ava didn't catch on to her sarcasm.
"Me too! I can't wait to meet my teachers." Ava said.

Maddy smiled. Ava would be attending Forks elementary, where their mother had recently got a job. One of the teachers had to take maternity leave, and it just so happen her mom arrived at just the right time. Even though Mike had begged her not to work, she wanted to be there for Ava since it was a new school. Maddy had the pleasure of attending Forks high with Claire, where they were both juniors. Maddy hoped she lucked out and didn't have any classes with Claire.

"Well, I'm out kid." Maddy said getting up and leaving her little sister's room. She walked quietly down the hall and went into her own room. She looked around at the plain white walls, she knew they needed a splash of color or something added to them. She had her posters of all her favorite bands packed away in a box, but she really didn't feel like digging through the cardboard boxes in search of the posters tonight. She once again sit back down at the computer and checked her email, this time she had two messages. One from her father and another from Aaron, her boyfriend. She opened the one from her father first.

Hey Mads,
Is it still raining? I know the weather must suck sweetheart, but just try to hang in there. You haven't even started school yet, who knows you may like it. I feel lost without having you and Ava here to keep me company, and keep me sane. They've switched me over to night shift this week, so if my email's seem a little off with the time, that's why.

I love you
Dad.

Maddy frowned, and then typed an email back to her father.

Hi Dad,

Of course it's still raining. It's always raining here! Dad, get real. I'm going to hat school here. It's bad enough I'm away from Aaron and all my friends-- but I'm in the same grade as Claire! You know-- the Paris Hilton clone that's now my new step sister. Ugh! I miss you too, and I feel lost without you. Be careful on night shift. I'll phone soon.

Love you,
Mads.

Maddy was positive her father wouldn't know who Paris Hilton was (he was old fashioned and didn't keep up with celebrities), but hopefully he would catch on to what she meant, or possibly even Google Paris Hilton. Maddy then opened up her email from Aaron.

Babe,
I miss you so much, it's so hard not being able to get in my truck and come over and see you. I know I've started out the door several times, only to remember you're a thousand miles away. How is life going there? Is Claire still giving you hell? Jas and I put together another band, hopefully this one will go somewhere.
Please tell me you've talked some sense into your mother and she's letting you come back to Pennsylvania! I miss you so much, I don't know if I can handle another year! I may just come and kidnap you.

Love always,
Aaron.

Maddy smiled and typed back to her boyfriend. Aaron was a total sweet heart. They had been together for over two years, and before that they were best friends. She didn't know what she'd do without him at times.

Aaron,
I miss you too. I am a thousand miles away, but trust me, as soon as I can change that I will. Life here is the same as it was yesterday, shit! Claire hasn't spoke to me in two days, thank God. I don't know if I can actually have a conversation with her without wanting to punch her in the face-- and even worse, she has this boyfriend who is ten times more annoying than she is.
Congrats on the band! I can't wait to hear what you guys have in store.
Please come kidnap me!
Love,
Maddy

Once she sent the email to Aaron, she closed her laptop and then walked over to the window and glanced out. It was still raining. She shook her head and walked over to her bed, pulled back the covers and laid down. It was still early in the night, but she wanted to hit the sack early.

                                                                         ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Edward Cullen sat beside Bella on the couch at Charlie's place as she watched Romeo and Juliet. He smiled as he tangled his cold fingers in her hair. The relationship between them lately had been strained, and distant. He wondered if it was because of something he may have done. When he questioned Bella about the distance between them, she just brushed the topic to the side, which led him to believe that there was nothing wrong with them. Why did he have the feeling that something was wrong?
"I'm going to go up to bed." Bella said, fake yawning.
"Okay. . .?" Edward said glancing up at the clock, it was only a few minutes after eight. Bella never went to bed this early.
"I'll see you tomorrow. You're going hunting tonight, right?" Bella asked
"Uh. . No, I think I can make it until the weekend." Edward said, his self control had become very good since he had met Bella.
"Edward! You need to hunt!" Bella exclaimed, turning her body to face him.
"I'm fine." Edward said, normally she would be begging him to stay, instead she was begging him to leave.
"You need to hunt, Edward! You don't want to lose control." She said, making him feel worthless, and like a monster.
After finally giving in, Edward got up. "Alright, I'll be off then." He said.
He placed a soft kiss upon her warm lips and then walked out of Charlie's house. He got inside his silver Volvo and then headed home, hoping to catch Jasper or Emmett before they headed out for the night.
Bella watched Edward leave and then rushed over to her phone. She quickly dialed Billy Black's number. A familiar husky voice answered.
"Jacob?" Bella's smooth voice questioned.
Jacob's deep voice was heard through the phone, "Bells?"
"Hey." She whispered, leaning against the wall, looking into the lounge, her eyes trailing over the trinkets placed all across the room.
"Hey. . . are you feeling better?"
Bella sighed down the line, "It's only in the mornings, Jacob."
"You need to take a test, Bella. Then if you are-" Jacob was then cut off.
"What am I suppose to do about Edward!" She hissed.
"You told me weeks ago you didn't love him anymore." Jacob stated.
"I don't." The simple answer couldn't leave her lips fast enough.
"Then simple; break up with him. It doesn't take a genius to figure that out, Bella." Jacob said.
"But-- what are we going to do if I'm. . . pregnant?" She questioned.
"We'll figure that later. . . I'll be over in twenty minutes." Jacob said, the next sound Bella heard was the constant dialing tone that indicated Jacob had hung up on her.
Bella placed the phone back on the holder with a sad sigh and waited patiently for her secret love to arrive. She and Jacob had been sneaking around behind Edward, Charlie, and Billy's back for nearly two months now. They had been fooling around physically for over a month, and two weeks ago a mistake happened. The condom broke, and now there was a problem; Bella may be pregnant with Jacob's child, but she was still dating Edward.
