"It's just one of those days", I taught...
"You just don't want to get up".The warm softness of the comforter on my bed was still keeping me anchored to my sweet early morning dreams, but my busy work schedule was yelling, screaming at me to just open my eyes and start functioning.
Still all flustered and confused, I got up and took a sip of water from the glass I always kept on my nightstand. I took a swift look at my reflection in the mirror: my hair was a mess. It looked if I had a fight with my pillows and sheets, or a night of the most intense and wildest sex. That wasn't the case, sadly.
I got closer to the mirror and I started to investigate my reflection even more carefully. My eyes were red and a bit swollen, my skin was full of red spots. What a disaster, I thought to myself.
Then I remembered.
Every inch of my body had tried to forget what had happened to me the day before, how I cried, how sad I was, how it seemed to me that my life, the only real life I had known to that point, was taken away from me, swept from under my feet in a nanosecond.
It felt like I was hit by a tornado.
I found myself in a world without him, and that, once again, destroyed me.
