Chapter 9.

The phenomenon of vampires has always appealed to me. Everyone kind of likes a vampire story because it almost could be true

It was a week later Harry asked Louis if he could take him to play baseball with his family. Although Louis isn't into sports, he of course said yes. Any chance to be with Harry is a chance he's taking.

Louis walked downstairs to see Troy cleaning his gun. "I have a date with Harry Styles", Louis said, deciding to just spill the truth. Troy looked at him bewildered before looking at his gun.

"Isn't he a little old for you?", Troy asked not wanting to have this conversation. Louis shook his head, "No, he's a junior, I'm a junior. I thought you liked the Styles?"

"I thought you didn't like any of the boys in town?", Troy shot back taking a sip of his beer. Louis pursed his lips. "Harry doesn't live in town technically", Louis said looking at his dad.

Troy just stared at him.

Louis looked down, "he's right outside", Louis said with a blush knowing Harry could hear them clear as day. Troy looked past Louis like he'd be able to see Harry.

"He is?", Troy asked looking bored. "He is, he wanted to officially meet you", Louis said hoping to score Harry brownie points with his overprotective dad.

Troy sighed, "bring him in", he said loading his gun and cocking it. Louis gave his dad a look, "please be nice, he's important to me".

Troy nodded his head, making a fake halo above his head.

Louis walked away going to the front room where Harry was waiting. He smiled at Harry, who smiled back. Together Louis led him to the kitchen where Troy was waiting.

Troy got up when they entered the room. "Chief Tomlinson. I want to formally introduce myself. I'm Harry Styles", Harry said in greeting, holding his hand out for Troy to shake.

Troy looked surprised by his manners, "hi Harry" Troy said when Louis gave him a look. Harry looked down at Louis before looking back at Troy. "Louis won't be out too late tonight, he's just gonna play baseball with my family".

Troy held back a laugh, "Baseball? Louis is gonna play baseball?". Harry had a smile on his face, "yes sir, that's the plan".

"Well, good luck with that", Troy said rubbing the side of his neck. He had a smile on his face at the thought of Louis playing baseball.

Harry smiled, "I'll take good care of him. I promise", Harry said firmly. Louis grabbed his arm pulling him out of the room, he looked back at his dad one last time.

"Still got that pepper spray I gave you?", Troy asked making a gesture with his hand, imitating spraying mace. "Yes dad", Louis said giving his dad a wide-eyed look before leaving the room.

Louis and Harry walked out to the car, Louis noting Harry was driving a jeep instead of his usual Volvo. They talked the entire time to the field, about stupid and meaningless stuff. Louis' favorite part was when Harry put his hand on his thigh and squeezed. He had to think about his grandma.

And according to the smirk on Harry's face, he had known what he was doing. The bastard.

They pulled up to the field and Harry parked. He got out and went to Louis' side helping him down since the jeep was high up and Louis needed help.

"Since when do vampires like baseball?", Louis asked Harry while Harry put a cap on his head. "Well, it's the American past time. And there's a thunderstorm coming, it's the only time we can play. You'll see why", Harry said pulling away.
