3:15 pm Kalos Central Time, Lumiose City

After eating at the Sushi restaurant with her friends, Serena got a call from her mother. Her mother, Grace told Serena that she got some surprise visitors waiting for her back at Vaniville Town and one of them is someone she might be excited to see. Serena invited Ash, Clemont, and Bonnie over to her house and they all decided that they should travel to Serena's hometown. Especially since they all never been there before.

The gang was currently walking down the path of route 1. They took a taxi to Aquacorde Town from Lumiose City. The distance from Aquacorde Town and Vaniville Town is approximately an hour-long walking distance-wise, so the gang chose to walk throughout route 1.

"So we are visiting Serena's hometown huh, interesting..." Ash thought to himself. "But who are these surprise visitors and who is this one that Serena might be excited to see?"

Ash got a bad feeling about who that person is, but shrugged it off. He noticed that Serena, Clemont, and Bonnie were having a conversation so he decided to join in. They were talking about what they were going to do at Vaniville Town. 

"I hope your mom will let me ride her Rhyhorn when we get there!" Bonnie squeaked happily, thinking about the fierce, yet cute horn Pokémon.

Serena sweatdropped as she averted her gaze. "Maybe Bonnie..." But in her mind, she hoped that they wouldn't do anything involving Rhyhorn racing during their stay at her home. The honey-blonde girl then glanced over to Ash, who seemed to be having a... troubled face? 

"I need to spend as much time with him as possible, before he has to return back to Kanto..."

After another thirty minutes of walking, the gang made it to the borders of Vaniville Town. Ash and the group would have made it to town much more earlier if they weren't constantly taking breaks for Clemont's sake.

"Here we are!" Serena exclaimed cheerfully. "It looks just like how I remembered since I left for my journey a year ago."

"Wow, so this is Serena's home? It's so pretty!" Bonnie said happily. Clemont silently nodded and agreed with his little sister.

Ash was silent and took the time to admire Serena's hometown. He wouldn't mind living in a home with Serena in a town like this, or even Pallet Town.

"So Ash, what do you think?" Serena asked her raven-haired crush. She noticed that Ash was silently staring, so she waited patiently for a response.

"I-it looks very nice Serena. I can see why you like it here so much." Ash replied, scratching the nape of his neck nervously. He then gave Serena a cheeky grin and a thumbs up.

Serena smiled. It made her happy that her hometown has been Ash approved.

"Maybe Ash and I can live in a house in Vaniville Town one day..." Serena thought to herself. She immediately shook her head and blushed at the thoughts. "Maybe it's too soon."

"Okay everyone, my house is just around the corner. We can't miss it because it is the only house in Vaniville Town with a Rhyhorn house outside the yard." Serena said, leading the group towards her family home.

When they got to the front gates, Serena was automatically tackled by an affectionate Rhyhorn. Serena introduced the group to her mother's Rhyhorn and the Rhyhorn that gave her injuries as a child due to Rhyhorn racing practices. After waiting for Bonnie to finish cuddling with the Pokémon, Serena knocked on the front door.
