Iwas walking down the stairs and found Carlos outside the entrance. Hewas deep in his thoughts ans smoked his favourite cigarette. I slowlywalked to him and tapped his shoulder from behind.

'Carlos?We should go. The chopper is waiting for us.' I spoke softly. Heturned around and looked deep in my eyes. As if he wants to saysomething with his eyes. He looked worried. It's not the Carlos I amused to.

'Is everything alright? ' I asked him worried.

'It's okay. I guess. We had a lot of missions together and I am notworried about you . I mean of course I'm worried about you 24/7 but Ilearnt that your a tough girl. How should I say... well Iaccidentally overheard what you said to Becca back in the office.About Wesker. Is it true? Was he the man you told about? Was he yourpartner before? Who "died"? Was he you lived together within the same house before ? Where now you and I live? '

Istood there shocked. My brain collapsed for a second and I couldn'tthink and see straight. I couldn't decide how I should feel myself.After all my past with Wesker still hurts. " I regret till todaythose sentences. After 2 minutes of silence Carlos touched my cheeksand looked at me worried. He brought me out of my trans. I shook myhead and answered him.

'I am sorry. But what you heard is a part of my past. A hurtful one. Ipromise you, I'll tell everything when we're back. I will answer allyou questions about me and my past. But now the mission comes first.My mental health later. I know you worry about me but you know mewell enough to know I won't die and leave you in acold-cruel-Jill-less world.'

Hesmiled and gave me a kiss. It was different. Not the passion filledone. It was slow and filled with love. His hands slipped from mycheeks to my hip and Carlos pulled me tight to him. He stopped ourkiss and looked at me.

'Just you know. Whatever happens I am right next to you. And you know... it's okay to be afraid. I am always afraid even though I nevershow it.'

Myphone started to ring. I looked at the screen and saw Chris his nameon the display. Carlos looked annoyed at my phone and without sayinga word he took it out of my hand and picked it up.

'Jeez old man fuck up. We're coming. And before you dare to ask.. NOWE HADN'T HAVE SEX!!!'

'CARLOSSSS! Eres du tu mente ? ' I learnt some Spanish sentence fromCarlos. And we practiced a lot in our free time. He talks to me a lotin his own language.

'Tal vez sí ' He smirked at me. Now that's the Carlos I knew. I triedto fetch my phone but he was way to tall. He put Chris on the speakerand hold my phone high above him. Chris was curshing at Carlos forbeing a jerk. I took my chance and tried to talk but Carlos didn'tgave me a chance. He covered my mouth and said his last sentencebefore he hung up.

'Well Chris maybe you could learn from me and maybe then you could askBecca finally out for a date, but I understand that you want to dieas an adult virgin. '

Icould hear Chris bark like a Doberman " Once I get you, I'llbreak your one and only useful part!!" Carlos didn't evenlistened, he hung up with a huge smirk on his face. Then he took myhand and pulled me with him to the chopper. I wanted to slap him forbeing rude to Chris but I couldn't he truly lightened up my mood. Icouldn't help but to admit...

'Haha that's the Carlos I know. But try next time to be less a jerk. '

'But that's why you love me ' He answered while he still pulled mewith him. I just smiled and answered.

'Yes that's why I've fallen in love with you. You jerk! ' He lookedback at me while we jogged to the chopper. I sticked out my tongue athim and he returned it.
