"And now that I think of it—I didn't even hear you come home..." Finn continued her thought process.

I looked at Nat who's eyes were the size of Pluto and I just blinked—all I could do was blink in this moment that was long overdue, but shit was going to hit the fan.

"Okay let's just take a deep—" Natalie started but couldn't finish.

"I was fucking your brother." Sloane blurts out and couldn't believe she blurted it out before smacking her hands over her mouth.

"You—you did, what?" Finn tried to piece together her words as we all sat in silence. There was nothing we could do or say at this moment that was literally going to change everything.

I looked at Nat with panicked eyes and she looked at me the exact same.

"How long?" Finn asked as Sloane winced. "It started last semester and then we were supposed to be a thing and then I just found out he was with other women so we stopped. I promise I didn't mean to hurt you." Sloane whispered out the last few words but Finn stood up as Sloane sat down.

"You didn't mean to hurt me? And yet you knew my brother always got everything I ever wanted and wished for? You're my best friend and you just gave yourself to him! Are you kidding me? You didn't mean to hurt me but you knew this was the one thing off limits?" She yelled.

Sloane just looked at the ground.

"Did you all know?" Finn looked at Nat and I as we just didn't answer—she already knew the truth.

"Damn. Okay. Guess that is how it is then." Finn chuckled. "Sloane—you know what, I'm way too nice to everyone for this." Finn shook her head with anger. She turned around and walked to the front door, she slammed it behind her as we all sat in silence.

What the fuck.

So not only is my relationship falling apart but so is my friend group.

"I need to go—see Mimi." I whispered as I turned on my feet and walked towards the front door.

I rushed out of the door and into the lobby before walking out of the apartment building, I mentally couldn't handle this at all right now.

I sprinted down College Ave, down the frat row, and arrived at the captain's house. I got five honks of car horns blared at me as I ran across traffic, but I didn't care. My mind was in ruins at this point.

I opened the front door—which was always unlocked, because let's be honest; this would be the last place any robber would come considering it was a house filled with big muscular men.

The house was quiet as I ran up the long stairs and into Matti's room. His bed was made, everything was clean. I opened Mimi's door and shut her door behind me.

He must've gone to work off his hangover.

Mimi woke up as soon as she saw me and jumped down, the bell on her collar chiming as she patted her paws towards me. I sat on the ground, back against the wall and picked her up- holding her to my chest.

God—she even smelled like Matti at this point.

And so I sat there with a cat in my chest, purring like all hell.

"We'll be okay—I promise." I spoke to her as she just watched me. Yeah, I was totally losing it.

She was literally living at Matti's and she couldn't stay here after I broke up with him, obviously that was not going to happen. As for the house, maybe he would let me make payments towards him once I graduated.

I sighed, "What am I gonna do?" I asked her.

I took in a big breath and released it.

Finally, some peace and silence. Just me and Mimi- felt just like home.
