How did things get like this? If the theory of there being land beyond the sea is real and that's where Reiner and the others came from, does that mean this war isn't going to end here? If we stop Reiner and Bertholdt today, will we just have more enemies to face? More of these special Titans? Will it ever end?

Another roar from Eren breaks my obsessive thoughts and I snap my attention back into the distance where Eren is pummeling Reiner into a building, throwing punch after punch.

I can see that Reiner has his hands up, trying to cover his face from Erens crystallized fists. I feel an ounce of sympathy but it's overwhelmed by the vision of my moms last moments here in this city. The picture imbedded into my mind of her being ripped apart by that smiling Titan. That never would've happened if those traitors never showed up. Eren and I still might have our mom.

Reiner head is being pushed back by Erens hand and Eren seems to have the upper hand, but that all turns sideways when Reiner reaches out and gets hold of Erens ankle.

My brothers Titan form is lifted into the air by his leg and is thrown onto a building, the sound of him colliding with the solid stone is enough to make me queasy .

"Eren!" I step forward, my foot planted onto the ground ready to take off with my ODM gear.

"Sophie wait," Jean grabs onto the back of my shirt.

I don't quite pay attention to him because all my focus is on Reiner, lifting Eren up by his foot and slamming him down, head first, into the ground. The earth cracks from the force.

"I have to go," I shake of jeans grip.

"We have a plan, Eren is okay. He could use a beating every once in a while," Jeans voice is soft and soothing, trying to calm me down. "Just wait."

I let my muscles relax, then look forward again, seeing Reiner lift his fist to punch Eren again, but my brothers hand shoots out, stopping the impact before he's beaten into the ground.

"We just need a good opening," I hear Hange speak to Mikasa who had also wanted to go help Eren like I did. "We have to trust Eren to get us one."

I look at the thunder spear in Jeans grasp, reminding myself of the plan Hange has in store with them...

~Flashback~

"A big metal rod?" Eren gives Hange a skeptical look while I swing my legs back and forth from the surface of the table I'm sitting on.

" It's pointy, dumb ass. That makes it a spear," Hange corrects him. "The Corps of Engineers really came through for me with this one. They've been going through a plethora of technologies kept hidden by the interior police. And I told him what while they were at it, they should try to cook up a weapon that'll work against the Armored Titan."

"And that's what they came up with?" Armin looks at Hange with a worried expression.

"You think you could do better?" I nudge his shoulder with a grin on my face.

"Wha-? No!" He shakes his head, embarrassed by my comment.

"Our blades may as well have been made of paper against that armor of his. All we could do in our last battle was watch Eren and Sophie fight the Armored Titan from the sidelines. There just aren't enough openings in the plating for us to cut through."

"True enough," Jeans deep voice speaks from behind me, his hands resting on my shoulders, squeezing them every once in a while. "Even at close range we couldn't do anything to make him let Eren and Sophie go."
