She's taking some time off, huh? She really loves her studies.
John was just restocking some food from a guy his father knew way back when from a small all-you-can-eat restaurant. He can get barbecues and dimsums for a special price because of it. Gotta get the best food with the best price, after all.
"Thanks, Uncle. Really appreciate it," Said John after receiving a plastic bag full of raw meat.
"You don't have to thank me every time. How's your father doing?"
"Eh, good I guess,"
The thick smoke surrounding the kitchen was enough to suffocate John's lungs. You'd have to wonder how a chef can survive an eight hour shift in the kitchen.
Cough!
John started coughing while waving his hand in front of his nose to blow the smoke away, even for a little. "Well I gotta go, see you later,"

Honestly, there's nothing special about this place, except for the fact that it's on the rooftop. It's perfect. You can have a nice cool breeze of wind while eating, and the smoke coming from the grill on the middle of the table will go up to the sky.
It's perfect, but nothing special. While heading towards the stairs leading down from the rooftop to head straight home, a familiar voice suddenly called him from afar.
"John!"
John turned his head, looking around for the person that called him. It was crowded but the girl waved her hand to make it easily noticeable. He walked closer.
"Remi?" He began.
Remi was eating, along with her two friends whom John doesn't recognize.
"You wanna eat with us?" Remi offered.
Seeing that John is quite hungry already, while he has some meat in his hand. He thought, why not?
"Sure..." He confidently pulled up a chair and sat just like that.
