"Mr. Anderson, your 12:00 is here" I heard my receptionist say through the small intercom

My desk was littered with files and loose papers that all had important information on them. I was stressed and needed a new assistant. My old one quit due to her not being able to deal with my "random bursts of bad moods" or whatever tf that means.

"Send them in" I say back, waiting for the person to walk through the door.

I hoped for a hard worker, a person who isn't afraid to be thrown into any situation.

A couple small knocks came from my office door, and then it opened. I was looking down at the documents I had in front of me when I heard a small voice speak.

"Excuse me? Mr. Anderson? I'm Ashanti Brown- here for the assistant position."

I didn't respond, she sounded like a push over and I didn't need that.

"I don't do shy women who lets the entire world run over them, no offense. You sound like you're two seconds away from panicking, crying, or hiding. My last assistant had a voice similar to yours and she was weak- I don't work with weak people" I explained

There was a pause

"Excuse me?" I heard the once low but now loud voice ask

I finally looked up to see a sight that only took my breath away. She was on the thicker side, average height, deep brown skin and curves to die for.

Not to mention her face was the epitome of gorgeousness.

"......I'm gonna be calm and collected because lord knows I wanna shove my foot so far up your a*s that your unborn children will be able to feel it- but I won't. Firstly I am gonna tell you this, I don't think my voice dictates whether or not I'm weak or strong. That was nervousness you heard because this is a job interview, fool, don't ever sit here and tell me I'm weak again. Secondly, I don't know who you THINK you are but just because you have all this money or all this power, you have no right to speak to anyone like that. Now, before I leave this office I suggest you give me a apology" She ranted in a calm manner

Her beautiful brown eyes stared into mine, her lips curved into a frown.

"You're-" I started

"The next words that leave your mouth better not be sassy, hostile, bossy, and especially not angry. You will not pin that 'angry black woman' stereotype on me. My feelings are not to be turned into something that downplays my entire existence." She interrupted

I got up from my desk and walked over to her, my body towering over hers.

"I was going to say you're right. I shouldn't have said that to you, and I apologize. I appreciate the way you responded. Not many people have the balls to talk to me like that" I admitted

She snickered and straightened her fitted black dress.

"I want you as my assistant, if you'd still like the job." I offered

The beautiful woman squints and turns away. She looked around my office for a bit before turning back to me.

"No" She shrugged

To be completely honest, I wasn't expecting that- I assumed she would say yes right away.

"The way you just said all those rude things to me without even starting the interview rubbed me the wrong way. You need to figure out how to speak to people, because I don't take no mess- and we'd be arguing everyday if this was something that happened often."

She smiled and began walking out the door. Usually I would cut my losses and move on, but there was something about her that fascinated me.

Was it the fact that she wasn't afraid to speak against me? Was it her beauty? Was it those things combined?

"Wait, Ms. Brown. I assure you, that would certainly never be an everyday thing." I wondered why I said that. My constant lashing out was the exact reason my last assistant left. Why tell this woman this only to have her find out later that it was a lie?

Maybe I liked the way she stood up to me. It was a breath of fresh air, someone speaking to me like a normal person.

"Oh? And why should I believe you"

"Because its the truth!" It wasn't, "I really feel that you should reconsider your decision" I pleaded

She smiled devilishly.

"Are you willing to beg for it, Mr. Anderson?" Ashanti asked

That seemed like a totally off the rails thing to request, and any normal person with sense would immediately decline.

"What? You want me to get on my knees or something? I'm not that desperate for an assistant"

She shrugged and nodded, turning again to leave.

"WAIT" I yelled

Something in me wanted her with me. To be my assistant, to be by my side. Aside from her looks and her ability to put me in my place, there was something else about her.

I slowly fell to my knees. She walked towards me, grabbing me by my dark brown hair and slinging my head back to look her in her face.

"Let's see how persuasive you can be" She whispered seductively

Sorry for mistakes ❤️ Pt. 2 coming soon

Let me rant for a little bit. First of all I included the angry black woman stereotype in Ashanti's rant because I wanted to quickly vocalize my hatred for the stereotype. I, as a black woman, shall not be called angry when all I am is passionate about whatever injustice has been done to me and/or any injustice I witness. A black woman's anger should not be used to discredit or down her. Every human of every race and every gender goes to periods of anger- so why is ours used as a common insult thrown at us by either our own race of men and/or people of other races? This is ridiculous- and it bothers tf outta me.

Anyways....watch out for pt. 2 ❤️
