Oh and they live in America for this, cuz I don't have a good enough understanding of Japan to do something like that (one character lives in a "hood" neighborhood and idk if Japan has something similar to what I'm thinking of.) It takes place in California. This might change later.

Nejire always was embarrassed by the "Nejire menu" at her mom's cafe. It was just embarrassing to her, to have an entire menu dedicated to her, ever since she was an infant. That's where the "Baby Blue" menu option came from, but it was the only free menu option for her and her friends, who came over once a week.
She had an entire menu dedicated to the stages of her life. Pastel blue was her as a toddler, then there was Periwinkle, and then there was a whole option called Nejire. There were others but she didn't want to think about them.
Now that she thought of it, the entire place had a very blue aesthetic. And the menu had many blue options. The walls were baby blue. The chairs were white and rose gold, and the floors were a marble. There were dim fairy lights hanging throughout the building, and in the corners, there were little lilac plants hanging from the ceilings. The entire place looked like a fairy's home, which might've been what her mom was going for.
"You were so adorable as a baby Nejire!" Mirio gasped, looking at a picture on the wall. It had just been hung up, right next to where Nejire's friends always sat. There was a big arrow pointing to Nejire's picture screaming "This is Nejire!" And all she could do was blush bright red.
"Were? You mean is! Look how cute my little baby is!" Nejire's mom said, wrapping her arms around Nejire's shoulders. Her navy blue hair getting into Nejire's periwinkle color. Nejire looked tired and stressed, which she was.
"Why is that up there mom?" Nejire asked, her hands at her temples.
"Oh, well a bunch of people asked who you were so I thought I'd just put this little picture up there so they know and don't have to ask." She said, laughing at her daughter's annoyance.
Nejire's mom, Mochi, pulled up a seat and sat down next to them.
"Mom, the Nejire menu is so old, why do we still have it?" Nejire laughed.
"Eh it's mainly to remind myself what hair color you have." She laughed, pinching Nejire's cheek. Nejire was deeply offended by what her mother had to say.
"You're lying!"
"Of course I am. I find it adorable to show people who you are." She rolled her eyes at Nejire. "Anyways, you guys can go to the house, Nejire's dad just got home, so he can let you guys in."
Nejire wasn't allowed in the house alone, not after the fire a few years back. They had to move into a new joke because Nejire had started a gas fire while Mochi and her "husband" were out of town.
"Great, see you in a few hours!" Nejire said, tired of the bakery's new aesthetic now that her pictures were hung up on a wall.
The walk home was pretty short. Nejire lived in a nice neighborhood nearby, so she never had a problem inviting anyone over.
"So what do you guys wanna do? We don't have any homework."
"Hey Nejire!" Nejire's dad called out from the couch. He was her stepdad but he had legally adopted her as his own child, so they always said dad, not stepdad.
"Hey Dad," she said before going back to her conversation with her friends, "I mean we could always go to the boardwalk? Or skating?" Nejire suggested.
"Oooh skating sounds fun!" Mirio gasped. Yuyu didn't seem opposed to it.
"Let me go grab some stuff really quick." Nejire whispered, running up the stairs into her room.
The room was a pastel purple blue. Her floors were brown so she placed a white fluffy rug on her wood floors so she would have something soft. She also had a few chairs scattered around her room, a big bed with white and purple comforters.
She grabbed her white Kate Spade mini backpack and a charger for her phone. "I'm ready! We taking the bus?" Nejire shouted out.
"Sure!" Mirio shouted back. Nejire picked up her Winnie the Pooh wallet and shoved it in her bag before running down the stairs.
"Ok so we're going skating and everyone knows how to? I really dont want to pay to watch you two break your ass bones, so like..." Yuyu shrugged.
"Oh right we can't skate... let's just watch a movie..." Nejire grinned making Yuyu laugh. She didn't exactly know what to do and she couldn't just call up Ryuko and be like "hey, wanna go get ice cream?" Especially since she got with her boyfriend. She hadn't been around for personal stuff as much since they had started seriously dating.
"Mirio! Can we watch Barbie?"
"Of course! Can I make the popcorn?"
"We don't have caramel..."
"Do you have sugar?"
"... you're not making caramel again, you burnt a hole in a plate last time."
"I didn't know how to make it! I can do it this time!"
"Mhm, sure. Cinnamon sugar popcorn." Nejire said as Yuyu turned on the movie. They were watching the Princess and the Pauper because Nejire and Yuyu watched it all the time when they were little kids and knew all of the words. Nejire would be the pink princess and Yuyu would be Erika.
(Yes I forgot the pink one's name.)
"That dress is so pretty. I would totally wear it to the prom. Hah, wouldn't that be funny?" Nejire laughed, looking at the Barbie character's dress.
"Nejire we're gonna go out and find you the prettiest dress. Not that. Ok?" Yuyu said. Nejire scrunched her face up.
"Can it be white?"
"You're not getting married."
"Fine, pink? Or purple?"
"You can pick whatever you want, just wanted to tell you that white isn't the best choice?"
"Yay!"

Just trying to put the pink vibes out there. Next chapter will be cute as well, we won't exactly meet Tamaki for a while.
