Trigger warning: Smoking, suicidal thoughts, Graphic murder scene.

January 22nd 2017

     "HE STILL IN THERE!"
"EDDIE!"

Richie jolted awake from another nightmare. Heavy breathing and quiet sobs could be heard through the darken room. Richie sat up as his hands clenched onto the blanket tightly.

Fresh tears ran down his flushed cheeks. Imagines of nightmare replayed in his head, tormenting him.

Richie sat there waiting for the flood of horror to wash over, following his routine. The waiting could take over 5 to 10 minutes each awakening. Some nights were worse then others.

If there was an attempt on stopping the freak out, it would worsen. As the example of him coughing and wheezing the other night before.

Richie was lucky this midnight as calmness started. Wiping his eyes from the tears, then getting up from the bed to grab his cigarettes like every night.

Once the box and lighter was found he headed to the balcony. The door pushes aside as the smoke was set between his lips.

The fire from the dark colored lighter lights the cigarette followed by a sizzling sound. He inhaled the addictive substance slowly before exhaling. Richie lightly tosses the lighted on the small table beside him.

Richie instantly started to feel more calm. His eyes drifted to the stars above him. The stars this night seemed to be no were in sight. Strange

Smoke floated around before disappearing into the cold night air.

He leaned against the railing as he became more back to reality. The city was more quiet and dark tonight. Richie sighed in disappointment as the lights from the far away buildings were off. The lights helped him with the nightmares.

Street laps flickered in the distance, one disappearing with light completely. The wind howled around him, his hair swaying with the wind.

Days has passed when he expressed his feelings. Express pent up emotions for months flow out. Richie had been feeling a bit better like some unknowing weights being lifted off his shoulders.

He inhaled and exhaled while his gaze began to zoom off on building far away. The night seemed more gloomy then normal.

A breeze snuck up behind him, having him shiver and curling his fingers in reaction. The cigarette almost slipped out of hand before tightening his grip on it.

The other day when he dropped the cigarette he heard other people living at the apartment about the cigarette. Richie didn't think it was a big deal because the cigarette landed on the sidewalk. It wasn't like it landed on dead grass.

Richie's neighbors irritated him to the core at times. As long as they didn't gossip about him he'll deal with them.

His eyes shifted to where the cigarette fell the other night. Richie lived on the 5th story of the apartment. A thought came into mind. If I jump, all of this could be over. All this pain and sadness would just... vanish. Subconscious he leaned over the railing.

Seconds later he snapped out of it, shaking his lightly. Jumping is not the answer. Even if the pain would.. fade away.. Richie started to think of would happen if he did end it all.
