Emerald eyes flickered to the white floor, a comforting hand situated on his arm while he anxiously nibbled on the inside of his cheek. This wasn't right. How could Katsuki do this to him? He swore he'd never hurt him again. He supposed the promise was officially broken. Slender fingers wiped the escaping tears that leaked down the bridge of his nose, the greenette looking up to see Katsuki's friend smiling softly. "It's going to be okay, Midoriya. He'll be fine." The freckled male nodded reluctantly, turning his face away and holding a hand to his mouth to suppress a sob, thankful that his unruly curls were covering his eyes enough so that any passerby wouldn't be able to see how utterly broken he was. The sounds of nurses busily working filled the waiting room, his gaze shifting towards the front desk. With a shaky sigh, he stood from his seat, slowly walking over.

"U-um..." he started quietly, swallowing hard. "Is there any u-update on Bakugou Katsuki's condition...?" He asked with a stutter, watching as the woman glanced up at him, staring into his puffy eyes for a few short moments with pity filling her brown orbs.

"Relation to the patient?" She asked, gaze momentary flickering to the red haired hero in the room before settling back on the greenette.

Izuku inhaled sharply, "Mate." The word dripped from his tongue easily, heart hammering in his chest as she looked over him, before shifting her chocolatey eyes back to her computer screen. Her lips locked into a thin line, hands hovering at the keyboard while she sighed softly. The woman turned towards the awaiting Omega, fumbling with a pen.

"I'm sorry, there's still no information about him at the moment. I'll let you know if anything new comes in." She smiled sadly, offering an apologetic look. He breathed in heavily, willing the tears to go away whilst he shook his head in understanding, blinking rapidly.

"Thank you..." His voice was much quieter than intended, not waiting for a response as he stumbled back to his seat, sinking into the chair and bringing his knees up to his chest. The rotten scent of a distressed Omega filled the air, his eyes fluttering shut as he hid his face in the sleeves of his oversized sweater. His breathing was labored, frail body slowly rocking back and forth in his seat while the pro hero beside him awkwardly stared, not knowing what to do. He visibly shook in his spot, fingers hooking onto the leather collar wrapped around his neck with need. "Kacchan..." He choked out mindlessly, two arms wrapping around his huddled form while he cried loudly into his sweater. The scent of caramel filled his nose, eyes snapping open with relief, only to pause as a sleek turtleneck came into view. "A-auntie...?" He croaked into the mostly empty room, as most of the staff couldn't handle the rancid scent plaguing the air around them.

"Izuku, honey, it's okay..." She smiled softly, sitting and pulling the Omega to her chest. "I'm here..." Her voice was strained, as if she had been crying too, and he couldn't help but feel guilty. Izuku wasn't the only one in pain. "The brat's strong, Izu. He's hellbent on being there for you for the rest of your life. He'll pull through this. I promise." She comforted him with a soft purr, scenting him hesitantly. The action caused him to whimper slightly and lean into the gentle touch, desperate for comfort. It reminded him of his childhood, when he would have sleepovers with Katsuki. Mitsuki would settle the two on her lap before reading them a story, cooing at them both. He missed those days. When everything was so simple. He didn't want to have to worry about the love of his life dying to a villain attack, or about his daughter losing her sire before she was old enough to properly understand anything. He had left Katsumi with his mother, thankfully. He didn't want her to see any this. It would traumatize her.

"Bakugou family?" A deep voice called, Izuku's head snapping to a doctor standing at the door with a sad smile. The greenette stood, wiping his eyes and wrapping his arms around his own midsection.

"Y-yes?" He said quietly, legs threatening to buckle while he strode over to stand next to the male. The beta gestured for him and Katsuki's parents to follow him, the three following after the man grimly. "I-is he okay...?" The freckled male spoke first, the brunet glancing behind him before stopping in front of a room with windows.

He sighed, "Bakugou's mate, right?" He asked, the Omega nodding shyly. "I'm sorry to say that Bakugou is in a coma. He's stable at the moment, but he lost a lot of blood. We found a clear, inky substance on his skin, which we found immobilizes its victims. He was impaled in the chest by a rust-ridden rod which, thankfully, we managed to remove without coming in contact with his heart." He explained, the greenette's throat feeling dry as he gulped, nodding for the doctor to continue. "Luckily, the rod missed his vital organs, so he should have an easy recovery." The beta sighed, reaching to open the door. He smiled, gesturing for the Omega to head inside with an apologetic look, similar to the nurse from before.

"Go on, Izuku," Mitsuki smiled. "He needs you right now." The freckled boy nodded softly, swallowing hard before stepping inside, the door softly shutting behind him. His eyes instantly found the blond Alpha, breathing shakily and walking forward, gaze focused. He looked over his unconscious form with sad eyes, his heart pounding in his chest. Izuku took a seat next to the bed, licking his dry lips and staring at the man's peaceful face intently.

"Kacchan..." he spoke breathlessly, nibbling on the inside of his mouth before nervously reaching forward, brushing a few strands of blond hair out of his face with his scarred fingers. "Katsuki... Kacchan..." the name escaped his mouth before he even had time to think, tears once again welling up in his emerald eyes while he took the Alpha's calloused hand in his own, kissing his knuckles. "Come back to me.. please..." Izuku whispered, fresh tears falling to his lap while he nuzzled his cheek against the still hand. The sound of the heart monitor caught his attention, the steady beeping rapidly increasing until falling into a singular, long, deafening sound. He froze, body stiffening as a rush of doctors and nurses came into the room. Everything seemed to move in slow motion, the shaking Omega getting pushed back into the scentless hall as he stared blankly, eyes wide and lips curled up. He sunk to his knees, fingers burying into his own hair before a broken scream rang from his lips. "Katsuki!"
