Chapter 6-A Beast
I felt so numb. It felt like we had been driving for forever. It was dark out. Immediately after I had killed the man, Brandon shoved me into a fancy sports car, and he drove off. He acted like nothing had ever happened. I couldn't act that way. The guilt plagued me at every turn. I should have chosen death over such a despicable act.
Brandon had not said a word, but neither had I. I sat in the passenger seat, and I faced the window. I cried nonstop. I tried to cry quietly, but it was quite difficult. I was now no longer better than Brandon. I had indeed proved myself a monster.
Out of nowhere, Brandon pulled the car over very abruptly on a back road with a nearby forest. He put the vehicle in park, and he spun around to face me with a dangerous glint in my eyes.
"Shut the fuck up!" He yelled at me.
I jumped. I looked at him only for a second before I turned away. Brandon was too scary. Oh why, oh why did I sign that contract? Why was I such a coward? Why was I an awful vampire?
I continued to cry, but I tried to keep in under control in order to prevent Brandon from going off. I heard Brandon sigh with frustration before he got out of the car. He slammed the door before coming to passenger side of the car where I was sitting. Out of fear, I locked the door seconds before Brandon tried to open it. He gave me a hard glare before, and he rested his palms upon the glass.
"If I have to rip this door off the car, I will kill you." His voice was slightly muffled, but his threat was clear.
I hesitantly unlocked it. Brandon threw the door open.
"Take off your seatbelt." He ordered. I did.
He snorted at me after grabbing my arm and pulling me out of the vehicle. "Still wearing seat belts, unbelievable."
"So?" I replied cluelessly through my tears.
"You still act like a damn human. Vampires don't die in car wrecks. Therefore, why should they wear a seatbelt?"
"Oh."
He shook my head at my stupidity, but I ignored it. At least I wasn't a cruel bastard like him.
"Where are we going?" I asked as I wiped away my tears.
He smiled evilly at me. "Into the woods."
I stopped in my tracks. I could hear a wolf howl in the distance. Fear took over my sadness. "No." I began panicking, and I tried to pull my arm out of his grasp. He gripped my arm even harder. If I was human, the blood would have probably stopped circulating in my arm.
"Come now. I think you will love it. Don't you love animals? I'm sure there are plenty of cute little bunnies and squirrels you can play with."
"Please Brandon-" I began.
"Please Brandon." He mocked in a falsetto voice. "It is time for you to learn some new skills of being a vampire officer."
"Like what?" I asked shakily.
He grinned once again. "Asking the right questions, fighting, stealth, and-" he paused a moment before leaning in very close to my face. He flashed his fangs at me. "Intimidation."
I gulped as he began dragging me into the woods. It was too dark. I couldn't see Brandon at all. I didn't know how he could even see where we were going. The moonlight was blocked by most of the trees.
