~UPS AND DOWNS~

"Yup." I say chuckling.

"Anyways wanna go out some place today? We haven't really hung out, just the two of us lately." He says.

"Sure, but where?" I ask.

"I was thinking-" He starts but I have a great idea.

"THE. ZOO!!" I say.

"Yess!! I was gonna say something chill, but I wanna do that instead." He says.

"Oh I'm sorry, we can do what you wanted to do." I say.

"No no! I wanna go to the zoo for sure." He says.

"Ok great, after school?" I ask.

"Sure." He says.

"Perfect, see you then." I say, before kissing his cheek and going to my next class.

"Hey um, I was wondering if maybe you wanted to hang out today? Like as friends obviously." Caden says, catching up to me.

"Oh- I'm sorry, Luke and I are doing something after school, but we can hangout tomorrow if that's ok?" I say.

"Oh.. yea that's fine. You can come over to my place after school tomorrow." He says.

"Great, I'll be there." I say, smiling at him.

"Bye." He says, leaving.

"See ya!" I say, before entering the classroom.

Braylen's POV
"Hey babe.." Loren says.

"Hey." I say kissing her.

"Braylen, can we talk.." She says, breaking the kiss.

"Um sure, you ok?" I ask.

"I- yea, it's just that.. I'm don't feel anything for you anymore.." She says, looking down.

"What? Why?" I ask.

"Um.. uh- there's just.. ugh there's this other guy." She stutters.

"Who??" I ask.

"Um Ben.." She says.

"Him?? Since when??" I ask.

"Umm.. like a month.." She says quietly.

"A MONTH?! YOU'VE BEEN CHEATING ON ME FOR A MONTH?!" I shout.

"I- um yea.." She says.

"You know what, I thought I actually cared for you, but I guess Luke was right. We're over." I say before storming out of the room. Ah gotta love a dramatic exit.

After school
Julie's POV
FINALLY!
School today felt wayyyy too long!
But its overrrr!!
And now I get to go to the ZOOOOO!!
I completely forgot how much I loved going there with my mom. We would always go together, and I would love every time we went.
I haven't been to it since she died, so it might be a little hard, but it's gonna be fine since I'll be with Luke.

"Ready?" He asks me, as he parks.

"Yup! I cant wait!" I say, trying to ignore the sudden memories that just hit me. Seeing that sign.... made me remember how happy and how fun it was when I came here with mom. This is gonna be harder than I thought. Just ignore it Julie, have fun.

"Ok! Let's goooo!" He says, grabbing my hand and running over to the zoo.

"Slow down!" I say, laughing.

"Neverrrr!" He says. I missed these little dates.

When we get in, we start to wander around, admiring how cute some of the animals are. We get to the penguin place. This was the place my mom loved the most. It was the place that had its own little building, different from the other habitats. My smile drops remembering that I will never see my mom smile like that again.

"Hey Jules, you ok?" Luke asks me. He stops walking and turns to face me, I try to lie but he sees right through me. "Just be honest."

"I- um.. me and my mom.. would come here a lot when I was younger. She specifically loved this habitat, and um it just hit me.. that I won't be able to see her smile like that ever again." I say, choking back tears.

"Oh- I'm so sorry, w-we can leave if that's what would make you feel better? Come here." He says before pulling me into a hug.

"Um yea, I'm sorry, but the memories keep replaying in my head and-" I say.

"Say no more, let's go. We can stop for ice cream if you'd like that?" He asks, walking back to the car, holding my hand. How did I get blessed with such a perfect boyfriend.

"Yea, that sounds good." I say, smiling.

"Perfect." He says.

But like- why could I actually smell the horse shit while I was writing the zoo parts?
