She moves across the battlefield, dodging from left to right as she avoid individual battles. She spotted her father jumps down from his horse, and helped a comrade from an untimely death, then see Heeseung standing over the remains of some rebels. Clearly, he doesn't need her help.
With some of their leaders killed, the rebels seems very lost. They are running around, not sure whether to attack or stop. She uses this opportunity to slash any rebels that passes her way.
Y/N reach an area where four rebels stand back to back, thrashing with a sword all around them. A pile of Ilrien soldiers has formed around them, and they have had a hard time getting into them without getting hit by the weapons. Several dead bodies of people on her side lies nearby.
Seeing this with a narrowful hate in her eyes, she runs to one of the four rebels in the circle, bringing her swords down into the back of the one behind it. Thus, it seems, that his own side behind has been attacked by the one in front when the soldiers finally take their chance to attack. Her weapon bury deep into her target, then she flips him off toward her front, taking the rebel down.
In moments later, the four rebels lay in their own human pile, bloodied by multiple stab wounds.
She moves onto other enemies after that, killing those about to slay one of Ilrien's soldiers. But this doesn't go on for long. Soon, she looks around, and aside from those on her side, there is no one left to save as the rebels seems to increase once again arriving from the broken walls.
Heeseung strides over to her, his sword still up in case anyone goes to attack them. "We should have expected that. They're recruiting men from all sides of the other kingdoms"
She nods slowly. "Which means, we'll either die for nothing today. His death will mean nothing if they manage to win", Y/N points to where Sunghoon is being helped by Geonu and Sunoo to retreat inside the Fort and secures Jong Seong's body from any harm.
"I'm sorry", Heeseung says, not liking the idea at all. Being killed in a battle is one thing. Seeing a friend die right in front of you is another. "I shouldn't have said something"
Y/N frowns. "Don't be. What matters is, it shouldn't happen to you or else, you'll kill me too", she says, her voice coming out a little ragged.
"I'll do my best not to add another sorrow in your heart, Princess", Heeseung said, taking off before she could even reply to help a comrade in the edge of the field.
With no other things in her mind than revenge for her friend, Y/N throws herself into the fight, paying no heed to her life as she cut throats and slice another head to take off for the other's chest. Gritting through her teeth to stop the memories of Jong Seong filling her head, she completely forgets herself for a while, though her effort is at naught at the level of enemies surrounding them.
At last, the sunlight suddenly streamed above the battlefield, and Y/N stops among the others as everyone seems to do the same, surprised at the welcoming heat and at the last second, before they could reach the threshold of the Fort, Sunoo squinted up at the hill where the sun is rising up slowly.
He looked up more and instantly gasped out in joy. "Geonu. Sunghoon. Look!", he shouted, hope filling him up again as he pointed up to hill in spite of holding their deceased friend in their arms. "I told you my plan would work!"
