"Y/N! Look out!"

His heart falls at this, blinking back tears, feeling like the world had gone sideways. It was mind boggling to try imagine a time when she hadn't been in his life, when he hadn't first met her in the walls of Ilrien, when there weren't any Princess to guard of, when she doesn't make a promise to live.

But Y/N turned, hearing him yells the warning and at the last moment, she drove her sword up to meet the attacker's weapon aimed at her back.

With his world revolving back to it's normal footing, Heeseung broke through the fighting mess and sprinted forward once out of it, driving his own sword triumphantly at the rebel's back, the same way it plans on her.

Pulling out his weapon and leaving the body gagging on the ground, he looks at her, checking for any injuries. There doesn't seem to be any. Other than a few scratches on her face.

"Do not forget what we talked about in your tent", Heeseung muttered, smiling in relief as he met Y/N's eyes. Her tied up hair is as damp as his from the still dripping rain.

"Of course I planned to stay alive until the end of this", Y/N shook some water out of her face and smiled back, seemingly content to see him safe. "Thank you, that could have ended badly for me but you just prove how good of a guard you are for a Princess"

Then she turns, slitting another enemy's throat and splattering more blood with her sword. Heeseung grins as she took the final step beside him and readied his sword in readiness for the next attack.

The night wore on relentlessly between the Ilrien's army and the rebellion. As the rain died down, the rebels seemed to become more determined. For every soldier who's intending to reach the protection of some of the still standing walls where Heeseung and Y/N stood, three or more were felled by the impossible number of enemies starting to surround them.

It's obvious to anyone who's side is winning. The numbers of the soldiers were falling. The first battle for the Princess is getting desperate.

"Y/N!", She heard him call for her. He was a little ways away from her, but she fought towards where she can see him shouting for the others. "To the Fort!", he said as Leeteuk which was way ahead of them repeating the same order to the other soldiers around and to those they still could reach.

"To the Fort!", he shouted again and again, so the still fighting comrades would hear. Fortunately, one of them is Sunoo at the top of the roof nodded and decisively calls for the other archers to come down with him.

To her left, Y/N almost want to slap someone hard for his foolishness as they hear the familiar vengeful growl of Jong Seong, followed by the clang of metal on metal, rang out from nearby. With a silent agreement when they turn to each other, she and Heeseung made their way to the stubborn squire.

"What are you all doing? Stand and fight!", Jong Seong was shouting in anger as the Ilrien soldiers around him retreated, passing him by without a care. His sword buried itself into an arm, and then to a chest of an enemy before he was intruded by Y/N's blade crossing his.

"We must go, Jong Seong", Y/N says, but the squire ignored her, going for the other passing rebel. She looked at Heeseung helplessly, then he gestured towards Jong Seong giving her a significant look. Understanding it too fast, she raised an eyebrows, but nodded slightly for the sake of her friend.
