It was my first day reporting for duty at Luca Green Energy Corp.

Come on. Suck it up, Quincy. There was no way that they remember me.

"Mrs Robinson! Welcome back. I was so surprised when Mr De Luca asked me to give you a permanent badge. Congratulations. Im guessing your proposal went well." The cheerful receptionist greeted me.

I smiled weakly. I looked around praying that no one heard her. However, it was to no avail as once again, everyone's eyes were on me.

I mumbled thanks to the blonde named Rachel. Embarrassed, I snatched the blue badge and hurriedly hopped onto the lift.

A middle-age woman ran in before the lift doors closed. I groaned inwardly.

"Hello, Im Mae." She smiled. "First day?"

"Yep." I was clearly in no mood for a chat, however the lady paid no mind to that.

I zoned her out as I stared at the steel doors.

"Hey, I hope you don't mind me asking but perhaps I could get a discount on your products?"

I froze, my eyes widening in surprise.

Did she just?

"Of course. Just quote YUM15 for 15% off before you pay." I smoothly replied.

I blinked in surprise. Wow. I never knew how much of a smooth liar I could be.

I think I stole the voucher code off a KFC ad.

I sighed in relief as the lift doors opened. I cringe inwardly as I scurried off, waving a quick goodbye at Mae.

I knocked on Dante's doors quickly.

"Come in." A gruff voice sounded out.

I stumbled into his office. The view was stunning as always. I did not even notice the gorgeous brunette sitting on the seat I sat previously.

The ugly monster of jealousy reared its head as I saw Dante laughed at a joke the girl made.

I never saw him laugh before. I tried to calm my pounding heart.

We are colleagues now. I cannot have these feelings. I know I don't have any feelings for him.

"I'll see you later, D." Her sweet voice rang out after noticing me.

I smiled at her politely.

She has a nickname for him?

As she passed me, she leaned in, "Good luck honey. Congrats on getting in."

She gave me a sweet smile before closing the door behind her.

Dante cleared his throat, snapping me out of my thoughts. I quickly hurried and took a seat in front of him.

"Hi Quincy, have you read through the contract that I had sent you?"

"Yes, Mr De Luca. I have printed them out and signed it." I stuck my hands into my tote bag, fishing around for it.

He remained impassive as he took the stack of papers from me. He gave me a quick nod before signing on 2 copies of the contract and handing one to me.

He sat back as I hurriedly placed my copy of the contract back into my bag. I felt his gaze on me, taking in my whole outfit.

I felt self conscious. Today, I made an effort to look like one of his employees. Instead of jeans and a t-shirt, I wore a silky midi skirt with a white blouse. I even traded my trusty messenger bag for a sleek, black tote bag that my Mom has given me for my 18th birthday.
