JUST LIKE KATIE HAD said she'd met kori outside at exactly 12. pietro had gone off with caleb giving his girlfriend a kiss on the check before walking away. kori and katie had chatted the whole way about the town giving bits of information that would be handy for her.

they soon arrived in the town centre that katie said was only five minutes away from everywhere. the shops, cafes, bank and schools were all located in the town. everything seemed to run in and out of their. different streets going off from the centre lead to different streets which had houses lined up on them.

linking their arms together katie pulled kori down the main street. cars, mainly trucks, drove past and the chatter of other people surrounded them. people have curious glances over to the girl with purple hair and eyes.

"so kori, how did you and pietro meet?" katie asked her.

kori already had the lie built in the back of her mind. she knew she couldn't reveal the true backstory of their love. "we met when i was 17 and he was 19" katie hummed in acknowledgement.

"we were roommates for a while and i guess sparks flew between us" she said laughing "well, that's not completely true. i hated him at first. i thought he was arrogant and cocky so he annoyed me to no end" rolling her eyes thinking of the memory.

katie laughed "so what made him change?" she asked. kori laughed "he hasn't. i've just learnt to tolerate it now" both girls shared giggles.

suddenly koris smile fell from her face and was replaced with sadness as another memory passed through her. "he has a twin as well, her names wanda. my best friend. she was also my roommate" she said and katie's eyes seemed to light up.

"why caleb is a twin as well! he's got a younger sister! although they haven't seen each other since they were kids" katie finished.

kori rolled her eyes "well i haven't seen wanda in five years now. she met a group of people who she lives with now. we aren't on good terms at the moment. me and pietro have been..." she paused to think of the words "travelling" she finished.

katie shot a curious look "why aren't yo on good term with her?" she asked curiously.

kori sighed "she did something that hurt us both a long time ago. i don't think i'll ever be able to forgive her" she answered trying not to scowl at the thought of the girl she used to consider a sister to her.

katie seemed satisfied by her answer and didn't question her. they soon arrived at the town centre which was full of life. katie pulled her over to a bench which they sat down on.

"so i'll give you a run down of everyone" katie smiles mischievously. kori laughed and nodded.

katie pointed to her left where a man with a smart suit stood on the phone outside the bank. "that's james mitchell, he owns this town" kori raised her eyebrows at katie.

"his family have old money, every child before him has owned this town. lots and lots of old money" she explained and kori nodded making the mental note.

katie next pointed to a woman with blonde hair and two children next to him. "that's his wife martha. snobby little thing but makes a delicious chocolate cake" she said rolling her eyes.

the next hour was spent with katie pointing things out to kori who listened intently. she was keen to get to know everyone in the town considering this was going to be her new life.

after they were finished they moved to a cafe and ordered some milkshakes. kori she learnt that katie absolutely loved to gossip. she spoke quickly and excitedly about everyone in the town. it seemed that she knew everything about everyone no matter how dirty their secrets were.

"so what made you and pietro decide to move to this small town" katie asked sipping her chocolate milkshake.

kori thought about the answer "well we wanted a fresh start i guess. a small town to reside and start a family of our own one day" she smiled at that thought of children.

"we just wanted a normal peaceful life" she added and felt herself drift off slightly. starring at the park across the street with children laughing and giggling to each other.

she pulled herself out when she heard katie speak "i've always wanted children. i don't think caleb is so fond of the idea" she spoke sadly stirring the straw around.

kori furrowed her brows "why not?" she asked curiously.  the subject seemed slightly touchy to katie and automatically she regretted asking "it's okay! you don't need to answer" she reassured.

katie smiled "no it's alright. caleb had a rough childhood. he thinks he's not good enough to be a father. or that he'll end up just like his own" she replied.

kori gave a sympathetic smile. "i'm sure he'll come around. just give it time" and katie nodded.

she gave a small laugh "anyways, best be getting home now. things to do and people to see" she replied standing up. kori followed and they both walked back to their street chatting away some more.

after parting ways kori rummaged around her bag to find her keys. not paying attention she stumbled when she tripped over something. steadying herself she look down to the floor to see what had hit her foot.

her eyes narrowed in confusion as she saw a blue droid laying flat on the floor. bending down she picked it up by it's tail and observed it curiously. she furrowed her brows and turned it to the side to see a logo plastered into the side.

automatically her posture turned defensive as she read the logo. she felt her eyes glow and her powers trying to push their way to the surface. but with so many people around she knew she couldn't risk exposing herself. reading the logo once more she walked over to the recycling bin dropping the droid inside.

closing her eyes and sighed and began to walk to the door. pietro appeared by her side in a flash with a smile on his face. "hiya honey. how was your day?" he asked opening the door for her.

she pecked his lips and let him in first before she slowly closed the door. her eyes scanned the street for on lookers before flashing her eyes purple as a warning before the door closed.

the last thing on her mind was the logo on the droid. and the people she hated because of it.
