Taehyung nibbled his lower lip as he trod closer with faltering steps and halted next to him, his heart drumming fast in his chest. “Hey.”

Jeongguk placed a few things in his locker, deaf to whatever Taehyung had to say, and shut it when he finished, ready to walk away.

“Jeongguk, please—” He saw Jeongguk take off and followed him in haste, cutting his way. “Listen, I’m really sorry—”

“I don’t want to fucking hear it.”

“But I—Look, look.” He fumbled to get the notebook from his bag and held it between them. “I wrote it from scratch for you.”

“Who the fuck told you to do that?”

Taehyung gulped past the lump that formed in his throat, his eyes burning, but he refused to cry. “I—I just thought—“

“How many times do I have to tell you I don’t care, huh? I don’t care about what you think or what you have to say. Leave me the hell alone,” he growled and took off, but Taehyung popped up in front of him once more, leading him to groan.

“I stayed up all night to do this because I felt like shit! It was a fucking accident. Why do you have to be so mean?”

Jeongguk clutched his book harder as he stared with a fierce gaze at his sparkling eyes, almost melting under them, but he stormed off before he let that happen.

He spent his ten-minute break alone, trying his best to prevent himself from feeling bad about how he acted.

Although deep, deep down, he knew he was harsh, and he regretted it.

Sitting at the usual table in the cafeteria an hour later, Yoongi was the first to join him, and with just one glance at his dour expression, Jeongguk could tell what was coming.

“You know, Kook, I usually don’t give a damn about how you treat people. You do your thing or whatever, I wonʼt meddle in that. But the way you treated Taehyung was unacceptable, okay? The poor boy sat for hours, the whole damn night to write the notebook.”

“I didn’t ask him to do that.”

“What the fuck does that mean? Even if you don’t want the stupid notebook, just say thank you and accept it. It was a mistake after all. He didn’t do it on purpose. And he stayed up all night to fix it. So you will apologize for the way you acted, ask him to give you the notebook, and say thank you.”

“Yeah, I’m not doing that,” he spat out with a derisive laugh. “I don’t want to talk to him again.”

“You never made a damn mistake?” Yoongi snarled, a ferocious scowl sprawling across his features that caught the younger off guard. “You’re the perfect guy who never makes mistakes? Huh? I know you’re not so cruel as you present yourself. I know it. So you’ll do as I said because we will have a problem.”

“You asshole!” Jimin’s shriek pierced their ears then, and they tossed their heads in his direction, only to see the boy stomp his way to Jeongguk, but Namjoon was fast enough to fasten an arm around him. “Let me go! Let me go so I can kick his ass!”

“Jimin! Stop screaming in here,” Yoongi gritted out as he took a look around, and sighed upon seeing a bunch of students already stare at them.

Jimin panted by his boisterous nerves as he glowered at the caramel-haired boy, but he choked back his rage for Yoongi’s sake. He planted his fists onto the table and leaned closer to Jeongguk, throwing him menaces with his eyes. “You’re the most ungrateful son of a bitch I’ve ever met. You’re so fucking selfish, a heartless piece of—”
