Jess liked me a lot. Why else she runs to me when I was so much unfair to her. There is only one reason why she kept helping me even after I clarified that we can never be a thing. She truly cared about me.
The question is that did I not cared about her? Was I in dismissal of my feelings towards her in all those years? What is the cost of being a leader of the most feared gang?
I liked Jess too. I was a huge fan of her and still, I am. It is tricky for me to be a good person. I mean I meant to be a bad guy. I have even executed people!
"What are you doing here?" Carol's voice started me out of my head. I hear her footsteps as she comes downstairs from upstairs.
Did she get out of the room by herself?
"Why?" I ask her plain and simple.
"Just wondering," Carol responded.
I lift my head towards Her. Her figure, the way she walks, her smile and her strong-minded personality remind me of myself.
"Where's Jess?" she asks.
"She left," I replied. I don't believe it myself. I can hear my voice trembling.
"Oh, someone has sweet spots for her!" Carol said teasingly.
This girl is my child, she doesn't know what happened and who Jess is. Why is she interested in grasping Jess anyways?
"You don't know what you are talking about," I say.
"You are right, I don't. Honestly, It doesn't matter," Carol shocks me with that.
Did she say something to Jess that made Jess leave?
"What did you two talk about?" I ask Carol calmly, not showing her any of my concerns.
"It doesn't matter, what belongs to past, stays in past," she responds as calmly as I ask her the question.
"You are my daughter. I need to know, so please answer my question," I tell her respectfully.
"Before I fall asleep, Jess told me that she loves you. When I woke up, I asked her if she meant what she told me," Carol finally says.
"What?"
"Yea, and she said yes she loved you. She didn't tell me much,"
I can tell that Carol is lying. I'm positive that Jess told Carol something.
"Let it go," Carol stops the train of my thoughts. "It doesn't matter who said what. Know that I didn't told her to leave," she adds.
She probably realized that I had my suspection.
Just then, I remember she recently get back to the life, and she kind of said that she is not going to kill anyone. She said that she won't kill her grandparents, but she would help.
"So what is your plan?" I ask Carol changing subject. "Are you going to kill your grandparents or not? You've never seen them," I tell her remembering her that she's on my side.
"I'm not going to kill anyone," she responds.
This is the girl who killed her crush to show me how strong she is, and wanted to kill her grandparents who are governor. Now doesn't want to kill anyone!
I am shocked!
"When I died, I saw you. You asked me to come back to the life," Carol say in grinding teeth.
"What is wrong with you?" I asked her lost by her words.
She smiles, making me wonder what happened to her while she was in coma!
"What is it?" I asked.
She just chuckled. I'm so fed up. Why doesn't she says anything?
"I have made a lot of mistakes," she starts after a while. "Nothing about this is right, but I garranty you that I will make everything right," she adds.
That made me question a lot of things.
I decide to ask her what her plan is one more time. Before I open my mouth, she gets up and start walking towards her room.
"It's only the matter of time," I hear her saying loudly.
