A/N:
This is kinda short but I loved the concept❤.

His stomach queased as the hooves of his trusty stead clopped across the dirt road. Familiar scenery near the edge of town should have been relieving, as it meant he had overstayed his welcome and was now onto the next. But, relieving it was not.

No, not when he had to worry if his new-found lover was going to show up with a get-away bag of clothes.

He swallowed a harsh lump in his throat. Hol Horse, was a ladies man, to say the least. In each settlement he had stayed, he would have a small fling for the duration- and when he told them that he would be going away, some waved him goodbye with a smile in hopes to see him again, some would slap him straight in the face, and some would sob and beg to come with him. Not once, did he ask any of these ladies to accompany him on his travels to wherever his heart, and his horse, took him.

Not until he met you, anyway.

When he first laid eyes on you, he didn't think this was going to be any different, much unlike popular love stories. He figured he'd simply just make love to you quite a few times, break the news when he decided to leave, and that would be it. You'd have a similar reaction much like the other women he had strung along and left behind, whichever it be, and the next sunrise, he'd be gone.

One thing he didn't expect was for him to lose his breath everytime you smiled at him, or for his face to warm up when you'd bat your eyelashes at him. Another thing he didn't expect was that when he fucked you, he would feel something other than raw, sexual desire. A little tingle in his chest, and a little bit of extra excitement in his loins.

So, imagine his surprise when he saw the dampened look in your eyes after he told you he was leaving- followed by an invitation for you to meet him early this morning, at the very far end of town. He hadn't even thought about it when he said it, was the funny thing. It felt right, so, he blurted it out, excited-eyed and wide-mouthed. You didn't have much of a reaction, for better or worse.

"I-Um, I'll think about it."

It felt like his heart dropped to not only his stomach, but his ass.

The conversation ended shortly after that and he returned to his temporary place of rest until the morning.

He knew you weren't trying to be mean. It was a sudden proposal sprung up onto you, after all. You hadn't even been officially in a relationship, for christ's sake. In all honesty, he didn't even know if you felt the same way that he did about you. Although he swore he felt it in the way you kissed him, and the way you held his hand, he had no confirmation. On the other hand, you had neither from him, either. It was a fair play, a fifty/fifty. For him, a waiting game, and for you; A decision.

And so that brings him here, trotting along on horseback, inching closer and  closer to the designated-meeting spot. He wanted to puke his brains out when the 'You Are Now Leaving' sign peek into his vision. What was not in his vision, was the beautiful girl who had captured his, before, unattainable heart. If he could melt into a puddle of non-sentient, emotionless goop, he would had then and there. But, this was how life was. He'd have to toughen up and keep moving. Thick skin was his middle name, but you had seemed to seep through his flesh and into his bones so well.

Heavy-hearted yet unrelenting, his horse galloped on. The edge of town was closer now, and his surroundings had become more clear.

His eyes caught onto something- no, someone, standing. Familiar colored hair with a glowy complexion. He smiled. He wanted to say that deep down, he had already known you'd show, but he'd be lying. He was worried shitless.

No words were said as he approached, only smiles. You made eye-contact when he had finally rode up.

"Are you ready, darling?." His voice pulled smooth, and calm, yet his hands trembled on the reigns of his horse.

"As ready as I'll ever be," You hooked up your sack of clothes next to his on the saddle. "Now get me far away from here."

You lifted one leg over the side of his stallion, and perched atop it. Slinking arms around him, you nestled into his back.

Welp, this was it. No turning back.

He whipped the reigns, and his heart swelled a few sizes as your arms hugged tightly around his torso.
