Surprisingly, Halle was enjoying her stay at Hogwarts. She had only been at the school for one week, but within that one week she had already made more friends then she had done for five years at Beauxbatons.

What surprised her more was that everyone seemed to find her magic shocking. For example, they were all confused as to why she was able to do wandless magic, and it appeared none of them had the ability to do that. Halle knew that not everyone at Beauxbatons could, but she simply assumed it was because they weren't interested in the dark arts and focused more on other types of magic.

"What?" She had asked Lucas after she wandlessly summoned a waffle from across the table in the Great Hall into her hands. He was giving her strange looks, and it was beginning to make her uncomfortable.

"Did you just do wandless magic?" Asked a very shocked boy in fourth year.

"Uh...yeah?"

"Where did you learn to do that?"

"I've been able to do it for as long as I can remember," she shrugged.

"I told you it wasn't normal," Jasmine shook her head, giggling at Lucas' curious expression.

"Definitely not normal," he replied, but he simply let go of the subject, continuing to eat.

The day went by pretty fast, they had simple lessons and no trouble, unless you count Halles detention for telling Snape she felt bad for his son.

The Gryffindor common room was one of her favourite places, it's was so cozy, she didn't understand how somebody couldn't love it. She could sit and read about magic, fiction, anything, she could be comfortable, it was such a culture shock when thinking back to Beauxbatons, she couldn't bare the thought of going back.

"Checkmate!" Ron beamed, and Halle groaned, rolling her eyes at him.

"No. Rematch! You are not the best at chess!"

"Yes I am! You know it and I know it!"

"I hate you," she decided, sticking her tongue out at him and laughing.

"Loooooser, hey Jas, has she always been this rubbish at chess?" Ron called out to Jasmine, who was curled up on an armchair, unaware of Lucas Blacks lingering eyes on her.

"Always," she grinned, tugging her sleeves down. "This room is so cold! This fire is doing nothing for me!"

"Stop whining!" Lucas laughed at her, he was sitting opposite her with Harry, they were doing their potions homework.
