Tate: Can't wait to see you today :)
Tate: and before you ask where I'm taking you- it's a surprise...
Tate: just dress warm :p

Dress warm? Dress fucking warm?

Does that mean fancy warm, casual warm, fancy-casual warm? Or does it mean a fucking snow suit?

Those are all the options Salma, Layne and I have come up with since Tate sent me that message.

The text came through at eleven AM, and he's picking me up at three PM. It's now two-thirty two and us three are still tossing around theories and outfit combinations.

"What about this?" Layne holds up a different combo of my lucky jeans and a crew neck sweatshirt. "It kind of says- I'm trendy, but not too trendy and I'm cute whilst being practical."

Salma takes the sweatshirt out of her hands and tosses it to the no pile. "He said dress warm, not sloppy. We need to find the fine line between hot, sexy, adorable, fashionable and cosy."

"Can't be that tricky, right?" I joke from the floor in front of my bed, where I've been rocking back and forth for around an hour.

It's been a little... stressful.

Layne picks up one of my tennis skirts and inspects it. "Are we one-hundred percent sure jeans are the way to go?"

"Jesus, Layne! We covered this an hour ago. Jeans are the best options, they're practical- relatively warm- and make Willow's ass look good!"

Well, those are the top priorities. Obviously.

"Sorry, sorry!" She holds her hands up in surrender and carries on rummaging through my now messy dresser. "Why has this gotta be so difficult? I say you just open the door in your underwear and save us the hassle of picking an outfit."

Is it bad that I'm not exactly opposed to that idea?

Salma holds up a corset style top I bought a few years ago and snorts. "Usually I'd be on board with a little bit of seduction, but this is their first date. I want to see how romantic Tate Wilder can be."

I'm pretty sure I've already experienced how romantic Tate is... Like how he looked after me when I was drunk, how he stayed with me when Layne was hanging her head over the toilet- Oh, how he wished me luck at the dentist.

And, of course, when he said I didn't deserve to be kissed in the dark.

Speaking of kisses.... If he doesn't lean in today I sure as hell will. It's long overdue if you ask me.

"What the hell is this?" Sal asks, holding up a short white flapper dress.

I take the slinky material from her hands and hang it back up. "My Halloween costume."

"I thought you were going as Tinker bell." Layne flops back on my bed, surrounded by my clothing.

I shake my head and pull out a cropped vintage t-shirt I got from a thrift store back home. "I was, but then Tate and I were talking and he suggested that I dress up like a flapper girl. I thought that'd be really cool so now I have two."
