Namaste, Wattpadians!
Welcome to the second edition of Indian Legion Awards. These awards are here to encourage and find the talented yet undiscovered writers.
We accept all genres with a warm heart as India...
Yes, it's finally here! But before we announce our winners, there are a few things we would like to say.
Firstly to our judges: Thank you for taking the time and effort to read, understand, and give detailed scores on stories! You all have done an amazing job, and we could not have asked for more.
Secondly: To all the participants who were a part of this competition, a big thank you. Without you, this competition would have never been possible. Judges praised the enriched content of the books.
Thirdly: Every author has a unique style of writing and executing creativity. Writing is not a race, everyone is a winner as long as you write for yourself. We want to bring some deserving books into the light. Please know that the judgments are subjective thus they will be different for everyone.
Review: The subtitle is not seen on the cover at all, but the cover as a whole is very pretty. The blurb could be done more neatly, with descriptive words and maybe quotations that really describe the book's overall story. I'm not the biggest fan of underage or age-gap stories, as I find them to be extremely weird and unnecessary as a person. But the romance in this book was really well-written. I absolutely adored the way you wrote both characters. Freddie is a lovable sort of fool-in-love. And Hugh was an absolute sunshine-y delight. The character dynamics were simple yet complex at the same time. However, the power dynamic was still a factor to be considered. I loved the British phrases that were added to the story at times. The romance plot moves quite fast, but I'm not very intrigued by the character development of the story. Which makes sense because it's more of a plot-driven story. Overall, it was a very sweet, slow-burn romance that was highly enjoyable.
Review: The cover is very pretty, and aesthetic. The blurb is filled with imagery that drags you to the story immediately. Would love the addition of more details with the excerpt from the story. I absolutely loved the way you described the setting of the story. It was meticulously written, and there were hardly any mistakes in punctuation or tenses. The plotline is a bit cliched, talking from a romance genre point of view, the new school, emerging from the past sort of a thing. Some characters definitely annoyed me on the course of the journey, but I like how fleshed out the character descriptions are. Also, I didn't feel the chemistry between Raj and Dev to be very gripping, to be really honest. It could be a bit more focused. Overall, the story was somewhat cliche, but the writing was amazing.
Review: The cover is pretty cute, and the symbolism is pretty, but I would suggest playing around with the fonts of the title a bit more. The blurb could be more organized and hooky. The meet-cute in the prologue was a fun read. There is a need to cut down on the lines and just organize and align the chapters neatly. I loved the banter between the protagonists. The plotline is clearly laid out. Anyone who's a gamer would absolutely adore this book. Overall, the book was a bit on the high end of pacing, and I really felt we could've gotten more of Tyson and Levi's gaming friendship.
