Graduation day
You watched as everyone took pictures with their families and friends, looking for ways to remember this very special day. You scanned the crowd looking for the familiar blacked haired boy.
Today was your last chance to tell him how you truly felt, that you'd had a crush on him since your second year of high school. Ever since you became the manager for the Shiratorizawa boys volleyball team, you couldn't keep him off your mind.
Daydreaming about dates the two of you could have had, the way his hands would feel in yours, the feeling of running your hands through his hair while cuddling. You wish you told him sooner.
You never could bring up the courage to tell him, especially after the fan base he grew when he became the ace after Ushijima Wakatoshi graduated. You felt you could never compare to the other girls confessing.
After your (e/c) eyes scanned the crowd, your eyes locked with the pair of familiar dark brown ones. You pushed through the crowd, going closer to the tall male. When you reached him he sent you a smile and waved at you.
"Goshiki-san, hey," You said, blushing slightly at the sight of his smile.
Goshiki chuckled and rubbed the nape of his neck, "C'mone (Y/n)-chan, I told you to just call me my first name. I use yours." He chuckled at the end and smiled.
You hummed in response and averted your eyes from his, looking at your feet while fiddling with your fingers, "U-um, Tsutomu, there's something I've been meaning to tell you."
Goshiki squatted down a little, hoping to make eye contact with you, "What is it?" He asked, locking eyes with you. You blushed profusely and cleared your throat.
"The thing is, I-" You were immediately cut off by none other than Shirabu Kenjirou who came to see his underclassmen's graduation.
"Yo, Goshiki, come take a picture with the volleyball club!" Shirabu shouted, causing Goshiki to shoot his head in that direction.
"You got it!" He shouted back. He looked back at you and smiled, "Sorry about that, what were you saying?"
"I-it was n-nothing, don't worry about it." You said, biting the inside of your cheek and looking away, "Have fun in college, Goshiki." Was the last thing you said before walking away.
You didn't wait for his response, or even expect one for that matter. You knew that was your final chance, but couldn't even bring yourself to say anything. If only you had a little more confidence.
You walked back over to Hayato who was standing with his girlfriend and your parents, "Where'd you go?" He asked, smiling at you.
"Just wanted to say one more goodbye." You said with a bright, yet fake smile. You could have asked for his number, kept in contact, but there's no way someone like him would have wanted to.
I mean, you were you. Not very popular, you didn't see yourself as the best looking, and you were anxious and shy. You would never work with the boy. He was everything you wish you were.
He was hardworking, ambitious, and always seemed to have a positive attitude. He worked so hard towards his dreams, yet you always did the bare minimum. You never could push yourself like him.
