One

The Fairies in their wisdom, the Goblins in their glee

Devised a special way for you to bump right into me.

The Gods high on the mountain thought 'twould be a bit of fun

To throw me at your tail then just watch the way we'd run.

Poseidon wagered Neptune all the gold there in the deep

Then both rose from the water to empower us in our sleep........

TWO

Eros called on Aphrodite, gathered Cupid on her way

Who, visiting with Venus said 'let's go to watch the fray'.

To make the game more interesting the Goddesses of Love

Threw all they had between them to our hearts from way above.

Now.

The Leprechauns, some Gnomes and all the Pixies heard the call

From mists they came together bringing potions one and all.

'I see queen Mab hath been with him' a tiny voice proffered.

'I see that Cupid's arrow's hit the mark' was overheard.

Titania with Oberon sat smiling all throughout

They, from their regal station, saw the players dart about.

'Oh, what a mighty pair they make'.  'Oh, isn't this such sport?'

'Look now she's kissed his lips'.  'Look now he's in her thoughts'.

Then all about were blinded as, from way down deep within,

An aura just erupted like there'd never ever been.

Brilliant.

'Oh now we've gone and done it', cried a Pixie.  'Who'd have known?'

A God was heard to say 'we should have left these two alone'.

King Zeus, who'd let the game go on, with sotto voce asked -

'Did anyone consult the runes or look into the stars'.

Then Mercury, the messenger, sped in on feet with wings.

'Hear now', he cried, 'what I've to say.  Hear this the news I bring.

The Magi asked of me, while sitting watching from a star,

That I should quickly get to you before you go too far.

These players that you're messing with, the couple there below,

Oh how am I to say this? Well -- they just thought you'd know.

You see there's been this problem with the dealing of the cards

They should have been together the Mermaid and the Bard.

Somehow there was confusion with the way the cards were dealt

That, if they got together, there was fear that they would melt.

See when they were created they were given something more

An extra special love not made for anyone before.
