As I stood in the dark and cloudy sky, I stared at the prison. The place that was my so-called home for so many years. The sky is almost ptich black with clouds and rain that was already starting to pour down hard. My clothes were soaked within minutes and the cold rain sent shivers all over my body. I don't care what happens to me, but I'm going to save Luna.
There were many werebears and adlets on guard. Wow, they're even uglier than I last remember them. I have to come up with a plan to distract them long enough so that I can get inside the building. I saw that their bodies were upgraded to endure water. Well that blows that idea. The werebears look like they were just created because they kept looking at their body in awe. It's always fun watching new mutated people. They always look so funny admiring their new body. They always think that their body is invincible and try to do crazy stuff that always end up getting them in a predicament or killed. Like, before their bodies were motified to withstand water, I heard this one adlet got so excited about having the ability to run so fast that he ran off a cliff and fell into a river. Stupid adlets.
There has to be some way to distract them. I thought for a while before I got the perfect idea. I went into the woods and started making deep fottprints in the mud towards the cliff. Then I climbed a tree and broke off two big branches. I just hope this works.
I started swinging and smashing the branches against trees, making loud bangs sounding similar to thunder, but less loud. I knew it was working because I could hear the panting of the werebears and adlets coming my way. I stopped banging and waited for them to come. They approached the side of the cliff seconds later.
"You think someone jumped?" an adlet or werebear asked.
"Probably, got scared and fell." another one chuckled.
"I would've loved to see that." They all started laughing. I smiled and jumped down from the tree that was my cover and started throwing each of them over the cliff. One by one they fell with shouts of fear and anger. I almost had all of them, but one adlet was being difficult. He started fighting back and landed a blow on my shoulder. I gritted my teeth and threw a punch at the adlet, hitting him square in the jaw. I used the time that he spent recovering from the blow to give him a roundhouse kick, sending him off the cliff.
I was breathing hard as I ran back to the prison. I walked around the perimeter until I found an open window. It was a little high but I managed to jump and get a hold of the edge, pulling myself in. I made sure that there was no one in sight as I lowered myself quietly into an empty hallway.
I sighed as I just figured out an important thing. I was able to get in. But I don't have a clue where to find Luna. I haven't been in this place for I don't know how long. I never even knew my way around here when I was trapped here.
I thought back to my times here. The first day I was brought here.
I found myself on the floor in the backseat of their van. The two adlets were in the space behind the backseat and I could feel their prescence close to me. My sobs were shaking my whole body and I could taste the saltiness of my tears on my tounge. I didn't dare look at the two people in white coats because I knew I would just cry harder. I miss my mommy...I miss my daddy...I miss my new baby sister...I just want to go home. I look up at the people and tremble at their sight. I tried to speak, but the only thing that came was more sobs.
"It's alright little one. Were taking you to a better place. Where you will have purpose in the world." the person in the white coat was a woman and she smiled at me, but I just turned my head away and cried.
When the door opened and I was pulled out by the girl in the white coat, I thought I was going to cry harder. I saw what was going to be my "home". It was a very large building that looked like it was a light grey color. The windows were large and scary looking. I looked up as the women took my hand.
"It will be alright. You'll be just fine." she told me as she lead me inside. But it was far from that. A man in a white coat pulled me away from the seemingly nice lady and put me in a tiny room. There was no bed or window or color. The room was painted a light grey. He shoved me in and quickly locked the door behind him. The door had no window either. I ran to the door and started pounding on it.
"Please let me out!" I yelled. "I'm sorry! I'm sorry! Just please let me out!" I didn't know what I was apologizing for, but if it convinced them to let me out then I didn't care. I kept pounding until I couldn't no more. I sat in the conrer and cried for a long time.
I didn't know how much time had passed before I heard the door click. I snapped my head up to see a different man in a white coat. He was bald with a long nose and holding a clipboard.
"Hello there David, My name is Mr. Sampson and I'm going to be giving you some tests." he looked like he was trying to be friendly, but I could tell by the tone of his voice that he wasn't.
"What kind of test?" I managed to say.
"Well first were going to prepare you for your awakening. You're going to have to really commit. Were going to make you into something special."
"Please come with me so we can begin." I slowly stood up keeping my hands on the wall. "Will you please hurry up? I don't have all day." I inched my way towards the door doing my best not to be anywhere near close to touching him, but it was hard when he was standing in the middle of the doorway.
He lead me down a very long hallway to a room with nothing but a treadmill with a bunch of wires and a machine.
"Please stand on the treadmill." I walked over to the treadmill and stood on it. "Very good. Please remove your shirt." I looked up at him. I almost got my shirt off, but my head got stuck and I couldn't get it out.
"Oh for crying out loud." I heard him say before my shirt was yanked off of me. The room was cold and I was about to hug myself for warmth until he barked to stand still while he hokked a bunch of wires to my head, chest and back.
"These wires are to test the strength of your body. You will run and the speed will increase. I will record your muscle's liits after your body forces you to stop." I nodded, not understanding half of what he said.
He started the treadmill and I started out by walking really slow. About five minutes later, I'm running with sweat dripping down my forehead and onto my face. I wanted nothing but to stop, but the speed just got faster and faster. I tried to keep up, but my legs collapsed. The treadmill stopped instantly and I hit the ground, not even attempting to get up. I was breathing hard with my eyes closed as I heard his footsteps approaching me.
"You did pretty well for your age. Most of the other five year olds give out way before you did." he started writing on the clipboard, but I didn't open my eyes. I was too tired to move any part of my body. I felt the man taking the wires off of me and I was lifted and set on a flat surface. I was being moved and I could hear Mr. Sampson talking to other people.
"You might be of great use to us." that was the last thing I heard before I was locked up into my room. I never though that that night would be my last as a normal boy.
I realised I had been standing in the middle of the hallway totally exposed while remembering my first day here. I shook my head. I have to get my head back in the game. Finding Luna is my main priority.
