Bellamy POV

Bellamy was sitting by the fire cleaning his weapons, going over Clarke's words in his mind.

"I can't lose you too!  OK?"

She didn't mean it.  She's just upset over Finn, he thought bitterly, she's scared and it didn't mean anything!  But he still couldn't shake the feeling that maybe... maybe, there was more to it.

It would complicate things if their relationship changed. Clarke was a good co-leader. She didn't put up with his shit, and she refused to back down when she thought she was right.

Outwardly he appeared to be his usual brooding self, inwardly his thoughts were a jumbled mess.

Clarke's POV

After she finished talking to Lexa she knew they had no choice but to send Bellamy and Lincoln to Mt. Weather.  At the time, she had meant what she said to Bellamy.

She needed him. She couldn't run this camp alone, but now she knew there was more to it.

What if he doesn't come back?

That thought alone made her hands tremble, but she steeled herself for the conversation she needed to have with Bellamy even as she searched the camp for him.

He wasn't by the campfire, he probably went to get some sleep, she reasoned, but this couldn't wait so she went to his tent.

"Bellamy? Are you in there?"
Clarke called softly.

Clarke heard a rustle and then Bellamy lifted the flap after a beat, "And what can I do for you Princess? " Bellamy replied, raising an eyebrow in surprise.

Clarke squeezed past him into the tent and turned to face him, her words spilling out in a rush, "I came to tell you that you were right. We need an inside man. You need to go to Mt Weather."

Bellamy stared quizzically into her eyes, "I thought you hated that idea?  That I would get myself killed?"

Clarke returned his stare, her heart started to beat faster, but she ignored it. "We need someone inside to turn off the acid fog. Without that, an army is useless."  She paused, then rushed on.  "I was being weak. Just because you were right doesn't mean I have to like it." She finished quietly trying not to choke on her words.

"Here is a map of what I remember from Mt Weather.  If you have any questions..." Before she could finish Bellamy snatched the map from her trembling hand. "I just can't figure you out princess..."

Clark inhaled sharply, "What is that supposed to mean? " she demands. "You wanted this mission to begin with!"

"Yes, I did.  I still do, but what changed your mind Clarke?  You are anything but weak. I know it's killing you,  what happened with Finn but I need to know where your head is before I rush off on a possible suicide mission. You have to be honest with me."

Clarke let her breath out slowly.

Honesty.  Yes she did owe him that.

"Finn has nothing to do with this!" She responded hotly,  "I meant what I said Bellamy.  I can't lose you, but I...I  can't be weak either..." Her voice trailed off and Bellamy took a step closer and wrapped his arms around her pulling her into a hug, she buried her face in his chest not having the energy to fight anymore.

"Princess, caring about someone is not weak.  It makes you strong." Bellamy breathed into her hair. "I can't lose you either.  We all need you. I need you." At his words, Clarke felt something relax in her and she slowly looked up into Bellamy's eyes. Bellamy didn't give her a chance to say anything before kissing her.
