Hey, my name is Sarah. I'm a 17 year old girl, who lives in a small town in North Carolina. I don't have a perfect life, but it is good. My parents are happily married, and have been for 20 years. I have a younger sister that is 7 years old. I'm a senior in high school and on the track to be graduating with honors. My life is going well for the most part. I just have to make it to graduation day and everything will be fine.
"Sarah!" My mom yells from the kitchen. "Sarah! Wake up sweetheart!" I lazily get out if bed and grab my clothes for the day and go to my bathroom. I turn the water on and take off my sleeping garments. The water burns at first, but I get used to it after a couple seconds. I've always liked my body. I'm not too skinny nor too big. I'm the right size and I plan on keeping it that way.
After my shower, I get dressed and and do my hair before I get started on my makeup. I usually don't wear a lot of this stuff but today is special. My senior class are taking pictures since next week we are graduating. I softly run the mascara brush on my eye lashes. After, that I put my light pink lip gloss on, to go with my pink dress. When I'm done with everything, I put on my flats and walk downstairs to my family.
My little sister, Elizabeth, sits in her chair eating a pancake drenched in syrup. "You look beautiful, Sarah!" She happily smiles at me and continues to eat. I sit down at the table and begin to eat with her.
I look up at my sister and smile, "Thank you Liz!" I take one bite of my food and then my dad walks in. He is dressed in a suit and has all his work materials in order. He smiles and me and Liz then goes to kiss our mom. I love how they can be so happy together. It just amazes me. I've never had a boyfriend like that because I've only dated a few guys just for fun. They all turn out to be jerks and I hope that one day I can find a man that will treat me like my dad treats my mom.
"Mom this is really good." I praise her for an excellent job on the eggs. She has always been a good cook and a very loving women. I don't know how I would have made it this far with out her. She smiles at me and goes back to cleaning up breakfast. My dad walks over and gives Elizabeth a kiss on the forehead before he walks over and does the same sweet gesture to me.
"I love all of you. I will see you when I get home." He walks to my mom and gives her a kiss before turning to leave. He stops and turns to me and Liz. "Be good you two." He smiles at us and heads to the door.
In a unified voice, me and my sister call out, "We will!" We both start laughing and hear the deep laughter of our dad as he walks outside. I finish eating and give my mom and Elizabeth a kiss before grabbing my coat.
"Be careful Sarah. Have fun at school. I love you!" My mom says as I hear my sister call out the same three words to me. I open the door and turn around for a slight minute.
"I love you guys too!" I turn outside and close the door. It is time for school. I open my car door and carefully climb in while not ruining my dress. I put my sunglasses on and turn on the radio. I put the car in to drive and pull out. Time for my last week of high school.
