Day 9

Maybe if I tell him a really bad pun, he'll realize I'm a lost cause and just let me go.

You nod to yourself in so much certainty, it was foolish.

You had no idea where the fuck you were, but this place was straight out of a fucking Fairytale again.

This time, you were in a cave hidden behind a waterfall. There was a path to help you down to a hot spring? It was too small to be called a lake or anything else, and was the size of a hot spring, but the water was pretty cool, so you're not sure what to call it.

This place-and the area around it-is pretty hidden so Akaza had more space to roam in the shade.

The sun had just set though.

Right now, Akaza was out getting you some fruits and filling up your gourd with water to drink. You're trusting him not to eat any humans, since that was his promise to you if you stayed with him.

You're starting to think Akaza is taking you to these places in hopes you'll fall in love with him, but these places are too good to be true.

You were not doing much honestly. You didn't have your phone to listen to music, you didn't have paper and ink to draw, you didn't have your Japanese books to study, you were a crippled vegetable.

You had taken a bath and washed your kimono about an hour ago. It was frustrating that you had to keep alternating between your uniform and a thick kimono, but you're not going to ask for more.

Like Akaza said, your existence alone was a burden, so you really shouldn't push your luck with him. A little boredom never killed anyone. Not that you know of, at least.

You slowly push yourself up to sit against the corner in the back of the cave.

You wonder if they were looking for you. Or if they just deemed you dead already. Or if they were glad you were gone.

Maybe they were happy you were gone.

Finally, the foreigner who only attracts trouble, the foreigner who can't speak Japanese, the foreigner who just didn't belong.

Finally, the troublesome girl was dead.

You saved Kyojuro's life, but honestly you feel like your work is done.

You're sure with Kyojuro, many more things can be accomplished with the extra Pillar.

What's keeping you here?

What reason do you have to stay?

You're only a liability to these people.

At first, your comfort was that you had a reason to be here because of your knowledge of Kimetsu no Yaiba.

But... you don't need to be here anymore, because Sekido had that knowledge now too.

Who's benefiting from your existence here?
