tessa's pov:

Where am I? Its so dark.

I can make out a forest right in front of me, and I dart towards it.

Through the trees, over the branches and into the leaves.

There's a rustle in the leaves and I get startled just a bit.

A shiver runs up and down my spine when I feel a cold hand on my neck.

I turn around and look up, to see his cheeky smile and dimples. And curly hair.

"Ashton?" I ask him and he nods, sitting beside me on an already thin branch.

"Why are you here?" I ask him.

"I needed a getaway, this is my place." Ashton tells me and I look out at the view in front of us. It was quite lovely. The skyscrapers merge into the black, starry sky and the tips of them disappear, the buildings intwine with one another, and there's lights on in their windows.

"It's beautiful." I say to him, and I feel a bit chilled all of a sudden.

Ashton pulls his leather jacket off him and wraps it around my back. The smell of alcohol and cologne makes me melt in my place.

"I know we haven't talked much." Ashton tells me and I nod.

"But I feel like.. You're really.. Sweet." Ashton says to me, his breathing staggered.

"You seem sweet too." I smile at him and his dimples sink into his face.

He swings his arm around me and I rest my head on his shoulder.

We stare at the view for a few seconds before he starts talking again.

"Tessa."

"Yeah?" I look up at him, and his face looks unusually worrisome.

"Are you in love?" He asks me, and I stop in my tracks.

I never really thought about being in love. I don't have a boyfriend, or a hopeless crush... That people know of.

"No." I say to him truthfully.

"Why?" I dare to ask him again.

The tree branch shakes and I feel myself starting to lose balance. The tree has to be at least eighteen feet tall, I'd die if I landed on the ground, considering it was also a brown path.

"I'll catch you if you fall." Ashton tells me and the irony makes me laugh.

I start losing balance and the branch breaks in half,

"Ashtonnn!" I call out nervously and there's no response.

My hair flows behind me in the air and my head spins. I'm going to die. I thought, I'm going to die. I inhale and exhale deeply, before I see part of the painful ground.

Oh God, I'm scared. I become closer and closer to the ground, until eventually I'm almost landing.

I fall quickly, landing on a soft surface, hearing a loud crash. I open my eyes nervously, and I see myself ontop of Ashton, laying on the ground with his arms around me.

I smile.

I can't believe he saved me.

I see a little mark of blood just above his eyebrow, and he winces when I run my shaky fingers over it.

"I told you I'd catch you." Ashton smiles at me and I feel as if the world is actually rotating.
