~Chapter 9~

That night Marinette was awoken by the screams of Adrien. He kept yelling "No!" and "Don't hurt them!" Over and over again and it was hard for the bluenette to calm him down.

She kept stroking his cheeks and mumbling comforting words and this helped, but he kept shaking and weeping.

She felt bad for her Kitty. Whatever he couldn't tell, had taken a huge token on him.

He hugged her tight and sobbed in her arm. "It's okay, I'm here." She told her boyfriend comfortingly.

The lights were off, so she couldn't see who he was, but his piercing green eyes filled with tears were still recognizable in the dark.

She had always loved his eyes, but she hated how empty they now looked. Lifeless.

He was now crying on her chest and squishing her boobs. She couldn't care less. She was glad that she was there to comfort him and that he wouldn't have to go through everything alone.

"Kitty... Can you tell me what happened?" Marinette asked once his sobs had quieted down.

His breathing was still unsteady, still affected by what had gotten him so upset. "I-it was a nightmare." He shivered.

She had already guessed that that was the case. "What was the nightmare about?"

The blonde swallowed the huge lump in his throat. "H-hawkmoth..." He took a deep breath, calming himself. "H-he had taken you and Ladybug. H-he threatened t-that he would kill you if I wouldn't give him my miraculous."

He hugged her even tighter as if that helped to take the pain away. "The both of you kept shouting I shouldn't do it, and I listened."

A sob escaped his lips. "And he killed the both of you before I could stop him."

Marinette ran her fingers through his hair calming him down.

"I-it seemed so real..." He choked out before sobbing in her chest again.

"It's okay, Kitty. I'm fine. He doesn't know that we're together or are even close. He won't take me and Ladybug can defend herself. Everything will be okay." She reassured him.

"If I lost the both of you, I don't think I could bear living anymore. I would have lost everyone I care about." He whispered.

Marinette's heart broke hearing those words. "That won't happen. I promise you."

She kept fiddling with her hair and he started purring. She giggled and continued playing with his hair. "I didn't know you could purr as your civilian self."

He simply shrugged and nuzzled her neck. "Thank you, princess. For being there for me. I love you."

"I love you too, minou. Go to sleep, I will be next to you when you wake up."

He let out a sigh and snuggled against his girlfriend.

The next day when Marinette woke up, she wasn't laying next to Chat as she expected she would. She also couldn't find a note telling her where he was. She paced up and down her room panicking.

"Tikki, where could he be? He was so upset last night, and I have no idea where he is. I'm worried." She ranted.

"Don't worry, Marinette, I'm sure he's fine. You can go look for him as Ladybug and hopefully he'll come back and have breakfast after." Tikki soothed her.

Marinette immediately transformed and leaped of her balcony. She looked on her bugphone on the map to see where Chat Noir was, and soon enough saw a green paw print indicating that he was near the Agreste Mansion.
