The Goodbye Look

WE ALL STARED at each other still trying to process that fact that Ian was alive. It just didn’t make any sense.

   “Did things just get incredibly worse?” Aria asked

   “I can’t believe this.” Emily shook her head. “Ian’s dead.”

Hanna scoffed “No zombies, don’t text. Okay his alive somewhere.”

   “Spence, Lexi.” Aria called out looking at the two of us

   “We have to get this phone back home before Melissa realises it’s gone.” I muttered taking it away from Spencer and began walking away.

   “Okay you put it back and then what do we do?” Emily asked

   “Do we call the cops?” Aria added

   “oh yeah because that works out so well for us.” Hanna remarked looking around cautiously.

   “Why is Ian texting Melissa?” Aria asked

   “And why is Melissa answering him.” answering Hanna added

   “Is she?” Emily questioned “I mean we don’t know how long this has been going on.”

   “Spencer, Lexi look you gotta find out what Ian told Melissa. Your the only two who can fund out what he wants.” Aria begged

   “And where he is.” Emily added

We all looked at the roof when rocks started talking in top.

   “Let’s get out of here.” Spencer muttered

We all rushed out the Greenhouse.

   “Let’s finish this in the morning I’m cold damp and scared. We can talk at school.” Hanna said pulling her coat closer to her.

   “We can’t talk at school remember.” Aria reminded Hanna. “The five of us are supposed to be having separate time.”

   “Doctors orders.” Emily sighed

   “So what are we supposed to do? Not talk to each other?” Hanna questioned “We're in the same classes.” 

   “We just have to play it cool.” I told her

I turn my head at the sound of noise coming from cross the street. It was Jason

  “Its Jason.” Spencer pointed out.

   “He moved back in?” Hanna questioned

   “What is all that?” I asked

   “That’s all that stuff those people left on the curb when Ali went missing. Those tributes.” Aria said

   “Maya said her family kept this things when they moved in. They didn’t have the heart to throw them out.” Emily added

Spencer scoffed slightly “Apparently Jason’s moved on.”

  “What’s he doing back in that house?” Hanna questioned Shaking her head.

Spencer and I were walking down the stairs when she got a call from Emily.

   “What do you mean gone?” Spencer asked Emily

   “I mean gone, blank zeroed out. Someone got in here and erased the whole drive.”

   “Who?” I asked

  “The real estate agentt. His been bring people all the time. I mean the laptops been sitting on my desk.”
