So this is Plitvice Lakes National Park, Croatia in the winter time. This place is so beautiful. It's definitely on my bucket list.
"There's the Plitvice Lakes National Park in Croatia. There are sixteen lakes with waterfalls connecting them over dolomite and limestone cascades. The lakes are known for their distinctive colors that range from turquoise to mint green, grey or blue. There are also the beaches on the Adriatic Sea where the waters are so crystal clear that the boats look like they're floating in the air. You can barely tell where the sea stops and the sky starts."
Iggy silently listened to her as she talked passionately about Croatia. He slowly ate his food, wishing he could just see her face.
Why did he have to be blind?
He'd never get to see her beautiful face when he woke up in the morning.
He would never be able to see her sleeping face.
He'd never see the way her eyes lit up as she talked about what she enjoyed.
Then it hit him.
He'd never get to see her art.
She worried about never being able to draw again but he'll never see it at all.
"Iggs? Iggster? Iggy? Iggy, are you alright?" her voice brought him from his thoughts.
"You look sick..." she said softly as she felt his forehead.
"I'm fine," he said quietly, taking her hand off.
"Please tell me what's wrong?"
"It's not nothing," she said, cutting him off. "Please," she whispered, putting her hand on his cheek.
"I- I won't get to see you. Ever. And it's killing me. Everything about you is so beautiful and yet I'll never get to see your face. I can feel it but it's not the same."
"And then there's your art. You're a major in studio arts and I'll never get to see your talent." A tear fell from his eye and she wiped it away with her thumb. "I just- I just want to see you..." he said quietly, leaning into her hand.
The room was quiet and all that could be heard was the honking of cars on the street below. Jenn thought for a moment, and then an idea struck her.
"You said you could feel colors right?" He nodded. "After breakfast I want to try something."
"What do you have in mind?"
"Just eat," she said, stuffing more food into her mouth.
