20. 𝘛𝘏𝘌 𝘏𝘌𝘙𝘖 𝘒𝘐𝘓𝘓𝘌𝘙 𝘝𝘚. 𝘛𝘏𝘌 𝘞𝘐𝘕𝘎𝘌𝘋 𝘏𝘌𝘙𝘖

(No one's POV)

Midoriya's head shot towards the direction where the voice came from, he saw y/n's silhouette standing on top of the building in front of the alley. He felt a little relief washing over his body at the sight of his friend coming to their aid.

y/n launched at Stain at an unbelievable speed with a quill in each hand, she spun around like a tornado and slashed Stains arm in the process. Stain quickly unsheathed his swords to try and counter attack y/n's speed attacks. y/n landed with a hault and charged at him again, this time he was able to block it.

Their swords clashed together as they both swung them left and right, Shoto and Midoriya weren't able to keep track of each swing. y/n let out a hiss of pain as Stains sword grazed her side, Shoto shot up to run to her aid but she stopped him. "Stay right where you are Shoto, Iida needs you." She ordered.

"Looking out for your little friends... how cute..." Teased Stain, y/n pressed her feather on his chest while he had his dagger pointed at her neck. "Shut up." She spat, he chuckled at her attitude. "There is no use fighting me sister of Hawks, I know what they did to you.." He muttered, y/n's eyes widened in shock as she staggered away from him.

"W-what are you talking about..?" She gulped, he smiled gently as he approached her. "Join me, we can take them down together.." Stain offered, what he was saying was only heard by y/n. The rest were too far to hear.

He took hold of her shoulders and leaned into her ear. "I know you want to, we believe in the same cause.." He whispered, y/n trembled under his fingertips. "We can kill the corrupt heroes... all of them... starting with your brother.." He uttered into her ear. Something inside of y/n snapped at his words, she gripped her feather with her trembling hands.

"I said, shut up!" She yelled as she plunged the feather deep into his abdomen. The force pushed him off of y/n and his back hit the wall. He hissed as he tried to grab the silver feather, but y/n only ordered it to plunge deeper.

"You'll pay for that one.." He spat, y/n only gripped her long quill tighter. "You talk way too much man.." He surged at her, ignoring the pain of the stab wound, and swung his sword. His blow was met with y/n's sword as she blocked his attack. "My brother is not corrupt!" She defended, he laughed. "Oh please, I consider anyone who follows the commission as blindly as he does corrupt. He doesn't even think twice!"

His lips formed into a cruel smirk as his hand shot forward and gripped y/n's slashed abdomen. Her eyes widened as he squeezed her injury, she let out a strangled scream of pain.

"Give up." He ordered, she spat in his face. "Never." Stain kicked the girl down and pressed his leg on her abdomen to keep her down. Shoto tried to run towards her but he noticed something pinning him and Midoriya down, it was one of y/n's feathers.

Stain took out another knife like the one he threw at Shoto and kneeled down, he dragged the knife across her collar and drew out blood. "Let's see how you taste like.." He sneered. He opened his mouth to lick the knife but a searing pain stopped him, he looked down to see y/n forcibly pulling out the feather she plunged in earlier.

As Stain was distracted by the pain, y/n took her chance to strike. Her hand formed into a fist and she punched him with all of her strength, the force made him stumble off of her and fall to the ground. y/n then climbed on top of him and straddled him, she pulled out a feather and gripped it tightly above her head.

"Now now birdie... there's no reason to kill me... me and you, we have a lot in common.." He croaked, his hand secretly reaching out for one of his daggers. "No..." She whispered. "You're nothing like me, you're not my mentor, you're nothing. You're just my target." She gritted her teeth, he chuckled at her. "No I am exactly like you, when you look closely y/n Takami." He gripped her neck and pulled her face towards his.

"We're the same.." He whispered as he plunged his knife into her thigh. Pain surged through y/n's body but she ignored it, she only had one thing in mind right now. And she was seeing red. She thrust the knife she was holding up into his chest. "I'm just following orders, you're my target damn it.." She whispered.

She raised her hand one more time to finish the hero killer off but as she was about to strike him she felt someone grip her wrist and pull her off of the villain. It was Shoto, he managed to slip away from the feather when y/n got stabbed and lost focus.

He grabbed the feather and pried it out of her hand. He grabbed her and pulled her off of Stain with one swift motion. "Shhhhh... please y/n calm down..." He whispered to her, she protested and tried to pry herself out of his hold. "No Shoto, I have to follow orders.. I have to finish him.." She muttered, slight hysteria in her voice. Shoto was confused on what orders she was talking about, but he figured that it's something about her past that Stain had triggered.

"Love please, if you kill him then you'd become the same as him!" Shoto shouted as he held her closer. She shook her head. "He's not me, he's a target. Shoto I have to, I have no choice." She said. Her voice was so monotone it was unsettling.

"You do, just stay here with me okay. It's all handled. The target is gone I promise." Shoto whispered soothingly, combing through her feathers. It seemed to have calmed her a little, but she was still not herself. She stared forwards with an empty look in her eyes and was unresponsive for a while.

"Midoriya! There you are!" Gran torino shouted as he ran into the alley they were in. A few other pro-heroes followed him, Endeavor being one of them. They tied the unconscious hero killer up and took him with them, the students following behind. Shoto refused to let anyone touch y/n and carried her himself.

A sudden screech startled them all as a winged Nomu charged towards them, he snatched y/n from Shoto's hands and flew off.

"What the hell-" y/n yelped. The Nomu's blood spattered on the pro-hero that was carrying Stain, the Nomu was injured. The creature was fast, and by the time everyone registered the fact that y/n was snatched, he was too high up in the sky for Gran torino to be able to reach them.

Just as they thought that he was gone for good, Stain jolted awake in the pro-hero's arms and licked the Nomu's blood off of her face. He jumped from her arms and launched himself at the now paralyzed Nomu with a knife in hand. He then killed the Nomu, successfully saving y/n.

y/n fell on the ground as he pulled the knife out of the Nomu;s neck. She stared at him wide-eyed, she couldn't believe that a ruthless villain like him just.. saved her.. "Come at me you wannabe-heroes!" He laughed. "There's only one person who can kill me! A true hero! All Might!" He screeched.

Just as the pro-heroes got ready to attack him, he went limp. "He's unconscious.." Muttered one of them. Shoto ran towards y/n's body that was laying next to Stain despite the protests from his father. "y/n, y/n can you hear me?" He muttered frantically.

"S-shoto... why did he..." She mumbled, Shoto shook his head. "That doesn't matter right now. You've lost too much blood, stay with me now. And whatever you do, don't go to sleep okay? Please stay with me." He ordered, y/n gave him a hazy look.

"But I'm tired..." She whispered. "I know you are y/n but just please stay awake for me.." He muttered frantically.

He knew that if she lost consciousness now, she might not wake up again because of all the blood loss. He felt useless, not being able to do anything to help, but he had to stay beside her now. It's the least he could do.

He promised her brother that he'd stay by her side after all...
