Chapter 6

(3rd Person)

It was almost like a dream and a nightmare for Inosuke, there he sat on the ground, his two beloved weapons in pieces while standing in front of him was one of the very people he declared he'd be stronger than. This very person stood strongly, their own sword fully intact, no sign of damage on him while his opponent was clutching at their wound, the very same demon that broke Inosuke's swords when he attempted an attack. He kept looking up, a sense of frustration and awe in his emotions as he realised that despite being the same age... their levels in skill were far different, well... that was probably because one of them was taught by a current Hashira.

Inosuke: F-fine... I'll let him... deal with it...

Inosuke said, sighing and resting his hands on the ground while (Y/N) just ignored that statement, still looking at the massive father spider demon. He huffed, taking a step forward which made the demon take a step back. Immediately, Inosuke was alerted as he realised just what the demon was attempting.

Inosuke: Explodey Guy! He's going to try and run off to shed his skin again!

(Y/N): Not going to happen...

Was all he responded with, but the demon didn't seem to agree as it turned on the spot and began to run... Inosuke then witnessed (Y/N) leap forward... and then the bottoms of his feet create explosions, pushing him forward and straight past the massive demon who skidded on the spot, stopping his escape as (Y/N) flipped in the air and landed to face the demon again still giving him a glare which had his killing intent leak out.

(Y/N): Did you honestly believe I'd let someone like you escape? You harm and almost kill a friend of mine, and you expect me to just let you go? Not a chance. I may have Miss Kanae's dream of uniting demons and humans together on my shoulders... but that doesn't mean I can forgive every demon I meet...

The Demon's response was only a growl, stepping back slightly as it saw the amount of killer intent (Y/N) leaked out and knew instantly that he was a much tougher opponent than the boar-faced one from before. The demon knew it had to escape and grow stronger... but it seems he wasn't only stronger, but faster than the previous demon slayer as well as demonstrated just now.

(Y/N): What's the matter? Not going to attack?

At hearing his mocking tone of voice, the demon could only growl, still holding onto the stump he used to call an arm, the demon was filled with enough rage to want to kill the demon slayer in front of him... however, he knew that it wasn't possible at the moment... nor could he get away to shed his skin again, his brain was racking for possible escape routes or battle plans.

Demon: Don't... touch... my family!

He decided to best option was to fight, swinging his only arm forward to try and attack, only to grow momentarily surprised as (Y/N) spun his sword, making the blade face up and easily block the dense piece of flesh, although... the spider demon seemed to have planned that since it suddenly lifted his leg, attempting to sweep (Y/N) and easily kill him.

Inosuke: Shit! Explodey guy!

The boar head wearer shouted out, more out of concern than any other emotion as he attempted to rush forward and help, ignoring the pain in his body from fighting the demon... only to grow surprised as well when he saw (Y/N) effortlessly hop over the giant arm, all the while spinning on the spot and landing on the demon's arm. The moment the demon's leg sweep was finished and it was about to recover, (Y/N) ran up its arm. The demon let out a confused and distressed shriek, shaking its arm and making (Y/N) fall off. However, the demon slayer easily landed without any problems.

Unfortunately, it seemed the demon planned this outcome too since the moment it managed to shake (Y/N) off, the massive spider demon turned tail and fled. Considering it managed to shed its skin before with Inosuke, it was much faster than when it ran from Inouske... so all the boar-headed demon slayer could see was a blur as the demon disappeared from his sight, the only way to see it is via the snapping trees that it tore down in a hurry. Immediately, Inosuke stepped forward to try and chase it, but a sudden look from (Y/N) made the demon slayer gulp... stepping back while (Y/N) sighed, quickly running through the forest to find the demon.
